Background / History

The Mechanical Empire was once one of the Star Sea’s two supreme civilizations alongside the Tianli Sword Domain’s martial civilization. Its forces reportedly suppressed the Tianli Sword Domain before Tianli Sect united numerous sects and billions of martial artists against it. After a century-long war that killed more than a dozen Cave Void Realm experts, the Empire was defeated and forced to wander the Star Sea for ten thousand years. 833 980 1229

According to General Sangge, the original conflict began when Tianli Sect discovered the Empire’s attempt to occupy the Ancient Realm and access a passage to a higher-dimensional world hidden in the Yin Ruins. The Empire seeks that world’s possible secrets of immortality, technological breakthroughs, and permanent territorial expansion. 1014

Upon returning, the Empire infiltrated the Galactic Alliance, placed figures such as Old Zhong under house arrest, and established Red Rock City as a heavily armed base. It supported the Thirteen Alliances with limited mech technology, production lines, materials, and interstellar transport while using them as a proxy force against Tianli Sect. 639 821

Its early Ancient Realm offensive expanded rapidly: it attacked more than a dozen Tianli Sect Divine Halls, occupied four continents, and nearly destroyed two more before reinforcements arrived. 824 855 When the Nine Great Alliances turned against it, the Empire withdrew from Zhiyuan Star and destroyed factories, production lines, military facilities, cities, and the spaceport rather than leave them behind. 989

The Empire later established itself on Fenyu Continent, where geothermal energy, mineral deposits, and suspected Origin Vibranium mines could support mechanical factories and Liquid Metal Warrior production. It deployed five major legions, built more than a dozen fortresses, and treated the Black Flame Mountain Range as a strategic rear base. 1014 1015 1106

Following a failed campaign against Tianli Sect, its forces conducted an organized retreat into the Sea of Fog. Fang Mo subsequently raided multiple Empire cities and fortresses, seizing weapons, starships, reactors, materials, and core technical data. 1206 1224

Organization

Council of Elders

The Council of Elders holds the Empire’s highest authority. Even Imperial Star Captain Morwell lacks the clearance to investigate Level Eighteen signals without the Council’s involvement. 1232

The Council oversees the civilization’s inheritance spark, a preservation system said to have enabled the Empire to recover from three prior destructions during its million-year history. When Fang Mo activated an inheritance source on the ruined Imperial Star, the Council identified him as a threat to its Ancient Realm plans. 1232

Military Command

  • General Sangge — Allied-forces commander during the renewed Ancient Realm campaign; revealed the Empire’s higher-dimensional objective to Farrow. 1014
  • Farrow — Sangge’s son and a field commander whose personal vendetta against Fang Mo was subordinated to the Empire’s strategic goals. 1014
  • Mu Lei — Governor appointed after Sangge; directed fortress defense, Star Gate construction, and later the force sent to overwhelm the Ancient Realm. 1202 1292 1338
  • Purple-Wing Blade Emperor — One of the Empire’s top three Imperial Machine Emperors; led its Level 7 forces against Tianli Sect and into the Yin Ruins. 980 1259
  • Flash Thunder — War King and diplomatic representative who handled the Empire’s later contact with Tianli Sect and other factions. 1297 1306

Social Hierarchy

The Empire maintains a strict class system.

  • Nobles possess extensive legal privileges.
  • First-class citizens receive major benefits; successful Mech Warriors are automatically elevated to this class.
  • Second- and third-class citizens have limited benefits.
  • Slaves occupy the lowest status. Captured Ancient Realm martial artists are caged, sold in slave markets, and treated as property. 1101 1105

Technology and Military

Technological Martial Arts

The Empire rejects traditional cultivation as too slow and regards technology-integrated martial artists as the path to godhood. Its central method is merging martial artists with Liquid Metal Battle Armor through genetic compatibility, physical integration, and mental linkage. 639 866

  • A successful initial armor-seal unlock can raise an ordinary martial artist to Xiantian-level combat power. 866
  • Level 3 Mech Warriors are comparable to Transcendent Realm martial artists. 639
  • Level 7 Liquid Metal Warriors can rival Void Comprehension Realm cultivators. 639
  • Genetic qualification is limited; soldiers who fail the required test before adulthood may never become Liquid Metal Warriors. 1101
  • The Empire’s rapid advancement does not eliminate resource constraints: mechs require rare materials, suitable pilots, gene fusion, and time to establish mental linkage. 797 1054

Mechs and Liquid Metal Warriors

The Empire fields conventional mechs alongside Liquid Metal Warriors, using the latter as its elite combat force.

  • Mech Legions — Massed formations equipped with energy weapons, particle shields, aerial units, and unmanned combat machines. 1196 1206
  • Liquid Metal Warriors — Gene-integrated armored martial artists with far greater flexibility and survivability than ordinary mech pilots. 639 866
  • War Emperors — Level 7 Liquid Metal Warriors; the Empire deployed thirty-five during Mu Lei’s major Ancient Realm offensive. 1338
  • Interstellar Legions — The Empire’s strongest combat units; Tianli Sect records state that one legion can crush countless civilizations. 943

Starships, Fortresses, and Weapons

The Empire’s starships can perform spatial jumps and greatly surpass Galactic Alliance vessels. Its strongest ships function as mobile fortresses capable of attacking and defending simultaneously. 639 1259

  • Destruction-class weapons — Superweapons capable of devastating military installations, cities, and transit bases. 989 1114
  • Star Gates — Constructed to transmit large fleets directly into the Ancient Realm. 1292 1320
  • Fortress defenses — Particle cannons, proton cannons, laser cannons, Dark Energy Cannons, starry-sky cannons, shields, and destruction-class forbidden weapons. 1101
  • Furnace Fortress — Headquarters under construction in the Black Flame Mountain Range, built to exploit geothermal energy, minerals, and energy resources. 1202
  • Imperial Star — A colossal mechanical planet from the Empire’s former peak, containing thousands of destruction-grade cannons, independent reactors, energy piles, and a vast technological inheritance. 1229 1231

Strategic Doctrine

The Empire combines overwhelming firepower with calculated exploitation of weaker factions.

  • It supplied the Thirteen Alliances with enough technology to build and operate mechs, while withholding core systems such as nuclear power, dark-energy weapons, and spatial-jump technology. 821 1138
  • It intended to turn the Thirteen Alliances into colonies that would provide resources and martial artists. 868
  • During retreats, it uses unmanned mechs, drone fighters, stored ammunition, and self-destruction attacks to delay pursuing enemies. 1206
  • It has demonstrated a willingness to destroy its own bases, production lines, and civilian infrastructure rather than allow former allies to inherit them. 989

Relations

  • Tianli Sect — Historic enemy. Tianli Sect and allied powers destroyed the Empire ten thousand years earlier; the Empire returned seeking revenge and access to the Ancient Realm. 833 980 1014
  • Galactic Alliance — Infiltrated and manipulated by the Empire during its return, serving as a source of infrastructure and personnel. 639
  • Thirteen Alliances — Former client bloc supplied with restricted technology and used as a buffer force against Tianli Sect; intended to become Imperial colonies. 821 868
  • Nine Great Alliances — Formerly tied to the Empire through the Thirteen Alliances; became enemies after rebelling and discovering the destruction left behind on Zhiyuan Star. 989
  • Fang Mo — Major adversary. The Empire repeatedly sought to capture him alive for study, while Fang Mo stole its technical archives, raided its cities, and activated its Imperial Star inheritance. 639 1014 1138 1224 1232
  • Ancient Realm — Primary strategic target, valued for its vast territory, resources, Teleportation Gate network, and the Yin Ruins’ higher-dimensional passage. 1014

Major Arcs

Red Rock City and the Thirteen Alliances

The Empire transformed Red Rock City into a fortified technological base and used the Galactic Alliance and Thirteen Alliances to establish production, logistics, and military influence in the Ancient Realm. Its mechs and Level 3 forces repeatedly resisted Tianli Sect attacks. 639 743 821

Full-Scale War with Tianli Sect

The Empire escalated from raids on Divine Halls to continent-scale offensives. Its use of Level 6 Liquid Metal Warriors and a doomsday-class starship caused severe Tianli Sect casualties, including the death of Nascent Soul Tribulation Realm cultivator Ling Cangyan. 824 846

Zhiyuan Star Withdrawal

After its alliance network collapsed, the Empire withdrew from Zhiyuan Star with a scorched-earth operation. It destroyed transit bases, cities, factories, military installations, warships, and the spaceport, intensifying the Nine Great Alliances’ hatred toward it. 989

Fenyu Continent Campaign

The Empire relocated its strategic focus to Fenyu Continent, where it constructed fortresses, energy centers, mines, and a long-term industrial base. Black Flame Fortress and Furnace Fortress became central to this effort. 1015 1100 1202

Yin Ruins Expedition

Under Purple-Wing Blade Emperor, the Empire sent nine Level 7 Liquid Metal Warriors into the Yin Ruins. Their stated objective was intelligence collection around the Nine Heavens Divine Pillars and the Divine Hall rather than immediate conflict with other factions. 1259

Star Gate Offensive and Encirclement

Mu Lei activated the Empire’s Star Gate and later arrived with a hegemon-class warship and thirty-five Level 7 War Emperors, intending to establish Imperial dominance in the Ancient Realm. The operation faltered when super-level energy readings threatened the fleet and Tianli Sect’s allies surrounded the Empire’s Yin Ruins base. 1320 1327 1338 1342

Trivia

  • The Empire’s technology is identified as a Level 7 civilization, though it has not fully recovered the strength represented by the ancient Imperial Star. 1101 1229
  • The Empire abandoned further development of Level 4 mechs because their power cores became too large and cumbersome, prioritizing Liquid Metal Warriors instead. 1301
  • Its inability to miniaturize dark-energy reactors was exposed when Tianli Sect successfully deployed them in Level 4 mechs. 1311
