Background / History

Miravia's origins are not disclosed. Before receiving her current name, she had been trapped and unable to move for decades, while her consciousness could observe the outside world from afar. After escaping, she intended to familiarize herself with the world she had been unable to experience directly. Li Weide named her Miravia, combining associations with phantoms and dreams to reflect her Nightmare Magic; she accepted the name with clear satisfaction and declined to use a surname. 374 382

Her past exposure to Residue left her fearful of losing control and being trapped again. When Li Weide offered to remove the remaining Residue from her body, she chose purification despite the risk of losing her power. He then secretly replenished her with Pure Magic Power from the Hogyoku, restoring and slightly increasing her strength while binding her more closely to his future plans. 393

Miravia became an Unspeakable largely to investigate the locked Department of Mysteries door associated with the Power of Love. Although she initially rejected the idea that love could be a genuine power, Nagini's account of Li Weide teaching Tom through it—and Miravia's correspondence with Dumbledore—gradually changed her perspective. 391 402

She chose to remain in Li Weide's Mobile Castle, helping establish its security and teleportation systems. Over time, the castle became her home rather than merely a refuge, and she came to see herself as an active participant in Li Weide's cause rather than an outside observer. 393 456

Appearance

Miravia is a pale, fair-featured witch with long hair. Despite having lived for many years, she is described as an “ageless beauty”; an alternate-world counterpart who did not undergo the same Residue-related circumstances appears visibly older. 382 402 517

  • Uses a Beech Wand. 391
  • Often shifts from ordinary clothing to dedicated battle attire instantly through Transfiguration. 478
  • Wears battle clothing made from adult Basilisk skin and scales as a core Hydra member. 478
  • Her wand became charred after repeated use of powerful Hogyoku-assisted spells during vampire hunting. 454

Personality

Miravia is intensely curious, especially toward mysteries she cannot solve. Her fixation on the Department of Mysteries' sealed door and the Power of Love reflects both her impatience with unanswered questions and her willingness to pursue difficult knowledge. 391 490

In battle, she is ruthless, technically precise, and thrill-seeking. She considers unnecessarily prolonged fights a flaw, favors lethal solutions, and is willing to use Killing Curses, Fiendfyre, and large-area attacks. Her enthusiasm for combat is strong enough that she sometimes avoids using Nightmare Magic because it would end fights too quickly. 394 397 527

Despite her hard-edged combat style, Miravia is protective of those around her. She shields Tom during the Purifier battle, worries about Li Weide's harsh training methods, and helps Nagini adjust to life in the Mobile Castle. 397 401 402

She initially retained the detached mindset of someone who had spent years watching the world from outside it. After accidentally exposing the Mobile Castle's existence, she recognizes that carelessness could endanger the people and home she values, prompting a more serious commitment to Li Weide's cause. 456

Abilities & Skills

Nightmare Magic

Miravia's signature magic allows her to manipulate dreams, consciousness, and perception. Li Weide describes her as able to enter others' dreams, weave stories, create bewildering illusions, travel through consciousness, and command the boundary between dream and reality. 374

  • Manipulated the Department of Mysteries recruitment process to gain entry alongside Nagini. 389
  • Can make enemies fail to notice a protected ally, making Tom safer beside her than beside Dumbledore during combat. 396
  • Multiplied a single Killing Curse into dozens of apparent attacks from different directions against Camilla. 441
  • Can pacify otherwise untamable Magical Animals, including dangerous creatures such as Acromantulas, Chimeras, and trolls. 404
  • Often avoids using it in major battles because its efficiency makes combat unsatisfying to her. 397

Ancient Magic

Miravia possesses a natural talent for Ancient Magic and uses it to reinforce both offense and defense. Her Spirit Root is noted to be substantially larger than Li Weide's. 461

  • Enhances spells with Ancient Magic, forcing Dracula to exhaust his Telekinetic defenses. 445
  • Reinforces a Shield Charm to withstand repeated Telekinetic and Vampire-magic assaults. 444
  • Created an illusion based on Dracula's past, causing him to attack his own memories and weaken himself. 445
  • Assisted Li Weide in locating Ancient Magic Hotspots and identifying Ancient Runes for the Mobile Castle. 392

Dark Magic and Combat Spellcraft

Miravia is an experienced duelist who combines lethal curses, battlefield movement, and area attacks with a highly aggressive fighting style.

  • Teaches Li Weide how to widen spell trajectories so a single attack can kill multiple opponents. 394
  • Deflects concentrated enemy fire, including Killing Curses, while protecting Tom in battle. 397
  • Uses Fiendfyre to destroy Vampire bats and deny enemies the opportunity for close-range attacks. 441
  • Casts Anti-Apparition Jinxes to trap targets, including Dracula, in a prepared battlefield. 444
  • Uses large-area Weather Charms, lightning, Cutting Curses, and Killing Curses against vampires. 444 454

Law of the Undead

Miravia's awakened law power manifests as cold, sinister mist. The Death God identifies it as the Law of the Undead. 524

  • Appears in her Spirit Aperture as black liquid. 524
  • Can be consciously released as white smoke from her fingertips. 524
  • Its specific combat and utility applications have not yet been explained. 524
  • Miravia later masters the law and continues training for a greater future threat. 543

Vampire Hunting

After confronting Camilla, Miravia dedicates herself to hunting vampires and develops extensive practical knowledge of their capabilities.

  • Studies vampire habits and weaknesses using material provided by Li Weide. 449
  • Uses a Blood Ancestor-blood detection device that identifies vampires within a one-kilometre radius and displays local terrain. 426
  • Recognizes the weaknesses and limitations of Vampire mist form, speed, physical attacks, and magic. 441 444
  • Successfully kills Camilla after a prolonged pursuit, cutting her in half before finishing her with further sword strikes. 454
