Background / History
Yuan Tiangang is summoned by Chu Xuanao alongside the Dragon Guard Manor and other retainers. Upon learning that Chu Xuanao intends to contend for the throne, he pledges to clear every obstacle in the prince's path. He immediately recognizes Wushuang's extraordinary potential, though he remains focused on establishing Chu Xuanao's own foundation first. 3
He operates as the Hall Master of Heaven Beyond Heaven's Hidden Dragon Hall, quietly investigating Tiandu City's factions, the Imperial Palace's protective formation, and Dagan's Golden Dragon of Destiny. He also removes the resentment corrupting Zhu Wushi and begins building a network of loyal forces around Chu Xuanao. 10 12
Yuan Tiangang recruits Ling Yan and Duke Fu's Mansion into the Hidden Dragon Hall. Using the Earth Fire Condensed Lotus, his Supreme Yang energy, and the Nine Revolutions of Fire Refining, he repairs Ling Yan's damaged foundation and raises him to the late Celestial Phenomenon Realm; Ling Yan responds by offering the Mysterious Feather Dao Robe in gratitude. 20 22
Through divination, he foresees Great Feng's invasion of Youzhou and the emergence of the hidden Ziwei Emperor Star in Great Feng. Rather than accept the celestial signs as fixed fate, he resolves to secure Youzhou for Chu Xuanao and eliminate threats to his master's imperial ambitions. 36 38
During the war, Yuan Tiangang travels to Great Feng and incites a two-front conflict by negotiating with the Barbarian Tribe. He later openly challenges Fengtian City, kills several Great Feng Imperial Clan experts, slays Huangfu Qingyun, assassinates Third Ancestor Huangfu Chengye, and escapes after drawing Great Feng's strongest forces toward its breached northern border. 79 104 109
The campaign leaves him injured by Great Feng's National Destiny, though he returns to Chu Xuanao with his injuries largely recovered. He continues pursuing the hidden Emperor Star's faction, using the Tui Bei Tu to trace Wang Teng's spatial escape and clash with a manifestation of true-dragon energy. 148 205 206
