The Eclipse Dick wielded now was vastly different from its "initial form."

The Eclipse of old could only summon the illusion of the Black Sun and extinguish all conceptual light within its reach. It possessed no other wondrous properties; it was merely the rudimentary form opposed in principle to the Radiant Sun.

As Diakum's mastery over "becoming the sun" grew ever more profound, and as his exploration of his unique theological path became increasingly obscure, the growth of light was accompanied by the shadowed path advancing by leaps and bounds.

The Eclipse now did more than merely extinguish light.

It had truly acquired every trait the Void Lords wished to see in the Eclipse Age.

While extinguishing light, it would devour it, then fill those extinguished shells with something darker, turning them into "agents" of the Eclipse's eternal night, actively seeking out every light source and snuffing it out.

Nor would the beings extinguished within the Eclipse simply "melt" into the eternal night any longer.

Burned ashes reshaped their forms, making them true "people of darkness"—without reason, souls, or emotion, possessing only blind, foolish instincts and the state of being "alive."

This was precisely the future the Void Lords desired.

They were not demons who longed to destroy everything. In the Eclipse Age, life would still exist. Life could still reproduce, and might even become more "prosperous" than it was in this age.

But everything had to follow the rules of the Void.
