46. Holy Shit! What Does It Mean for Divine Authority to Be Granted by the Sovereign?

Azshara had finally obtained what she desired.

The proud queen left Eluh'ia in satisfaction, carrying a passage of incantation with her.

Of course, that incantation could not be used yet. The Titans could summon the Pantheon because they possessed the status of true gods, but Azshara was merely a Lesser God. She would need to make ample preparations before she could possibly open a gate to the Pantheon.

She had traded nothing more than a guess for this supreme Arcane treasure, and the queen had clearly told a lie.

She claimed she would hand Aman'Thul over to the Titans for questioning, but she had no intention of doing so. Or rather, before Aman'Thul revealed the secrets of "Arcane Zereth," Azshara would not let that ghost go so easily.

The queen had personally visited Zereth Mortis.

She knew what tremendous power lay within the Zereth Holy Land. Though Diakum was watching and would never permit her to wield the power to reshape reality, even without touching that power, the knowledge to be found in Arcane Zereth was enough to open a path toward becoming an "Arcane true god" for Azshara.

A being as exceptionally gifted as her would never allow herself to stop at the realm of a Lesser God.

What was more, after learning of the First Ones, even the status of a "true god" no longer seemed sufficient to Azshara. After all, there were gods above true gods. How could the proud queen allow herself, with the potential to reach the summit, to remain pitifully in the "second tier"?

She would never allow her fate to be controlled by a pack of half-baked bastards who were neither omniscient nor omnipotent!

Still, it was far too early to speak of such things.

The queen had lofty ideals, but that did
