An island surrounded by countless whirlpools—there was no way it could be free of danger.
It was merely a matter of choosing the lesser of two evils compared to the open sea.
After landing on the island, Bai Zhi released a batch of the Ghost Soldiers he had acquired in the previous world to explore it. Shadow guards were useful, but compared to Ghost Soldiers, which required no Spiritual Energy expenditure, Ghost Soldiers were far more convenient.
However, Bai Zhi had not expected that not a single one of the Ghost Soldiers he sent out would return. The island's interior seemed like a bottomless abyss that had swallowed every Ghost Soldier he had dispatched.
But regardless, with night already beginning to fall, they could not possibly return to the sea.
In a relatively flat clearing farthest from the forest, Bai Zhi's group of four set up a temporary camp for the night.
Though calling it a camp was rather generous. The four of them simply set up their own shelters and lit a fire in the middle. Bai Zhi had no shortage of wood and other fire-starting materials in his Na Jie.
"Are we just going to leave it alone?"
Looking at the forest on the island, shrouded in dense darkness, Qi Guang Meng Xing looked somewhat worried.
"We know nothing about this island. What if some unexpected accident happens during the night?"
Night fell quickly in this world. The sky had already darkened, and aside from the sea surface where the densely packed whirlpools could still barely be seen, the forest side of the island had been covered in a deep darkness. From afar, it looked somewhat like some enormous creature crouching in the shadows.
