Wen Xishu had always wanted to figure out what the people of the Three Towers World had experienced.

Whether that experience was connected to the later formation of the Bunker.

Thinking from the source and solving the problem was his habit.

Of course, the answer to that question clearly would not be hidden in this Tower of Slaughter Monster Compendium.

Still, through these monsters, he might be able to uncover some clues.

Most of the monsters' appearances were actually similar to humans.

When the apocalypse came, the Three Towers World—the vast, boundless world humanity had once inhabited—was filled everywhere with monsters transformed from humans.

These monsters were divided into "Common Species," "Rare Species," "Elite," "Leader," and "Ruler."

The compendium was organized by floor and described monsters from the first floor to somewhere beyond the thirtieth.

Most were Common Species. Rare Species were comparatively scarce.

By the time it came to Leaders and Rulers, the descriptions were basically filled with vague terms like "it is said," "perhaps," "speculation," and "inference."

As Wen Xishu flipped through the compendium, he discovered that while most monsters were humanoid, the details of their bodies were utterly irregular.

Some monsters were highly lovecraftian, with tentacles, flesh tumors, and eyes covering their entire bodies.

But others were entirely different in style, like characters from two works with completely different art styles... Some monsters were even quite beautiful.

For example—Wen Xishu actually saw a beast-eared girl.

He continued turning the pages. Before long, his hand stopped, and his expression changed slightly.

After seeing the Mental Barrage, Wen Xishu had been extremely restrained with his emotions.

Especially after discovering that the Eerie Sequence's effective range covered the entire academy, he had repeatedly reminded himself to remain calm.

At that moment, there was a slight disturbance in Wen Xishu's heart.

Because he had seen someone familiar.

Slaughter Tower Leader: Face-stitcher.

Since many Slaughter Tower monsters attacked at the slightest disagreement, there was no way to gather enough information to learn their names as one could in the Desire Tower or Strange Tower.

For instance, the Face-stitcher was the Jack Wen Xishu knew.

Here, he should be called Slaughter Jack.

Most terrifyingly, the words seemed to possess some power to alter fate. The curses came true, and the creatures hostile to the Face-stitcher kept dying.

We have not obtained any information regarding this sequence from the Guides.

But we can infer that this Eerie Sequence may have a sequence number within the top fifty!

As for the Face-stitcher's third phase, regrettably, we do not know. Perhaps, perhaps it is related to the girl behind it. The Face-stitcher's second phase is already terrifying enough, so we abandoned any further investigation.

Although humanity's exploration of the Slaughter Tower had long surpassed the twenty-first floor... there were still enormous numbers of monsters on nearly every floor, including quite a few Leader-class enemies.

By avoiding these enemies and killing enough Common Species, one could still enter the next floor.

But in essence, this was skipping class, and we did not know whether such class-skipping might one day... leave us unable to deal with certain unexpected situations.

Wen Xishu had not expected Slaughter Jack to be a monster humanity had yet to conquer.

Moreover, according to the book, there were quite a few monsters like that.

Although Albert had advanced to the ninety-sixth floor, that only meant he could reach that floor. It did not mean he could defeat every monster on the previous ninety-five floors.

Every floor contained countless areas, and many monsters in the Slaughter Tower were unknown even to Albert.

Of course, that was not what Wen Xishu cared about.

Wen Xishu's greatest gain this time was probably... the other abilities of Weird Sequence 37: Mental Barrage.

He did not know whether Jack had given him the power, causing this one-of-a-kind sequence to transfer to him.

Or whether Jack still possessed this power, but no one in the Bunker other than him could obtain the sequence anymore.

Those were two different game drop mechanisms.

The book had not written about it, and Wen Xishu realized... he had not yet grasped much of this body's memories.

And aside from this body's memories, there was much common knowledge he did not understand either.

He really needed to visit the library more often.

Night fell without him noticing.

Wen Xishu had learned some strategies for dealing with monsters, while Yue Yun had learned about some powerful sequences.

But the one who had gained the most today was still Nissen.

Nissen said:

"So the academy uses a credit system! Teachers don't actually have many classes. Most of it is independent practice! In other words, heading into the Slaughter Tower to kill enemies."

"During midterms and finals, the teachers test our combat abilities. The final score is determined by two parts: the number of times we explore the Slaughter Tower and our results in fighting the teachers."

"For the first tower climb, a teacher takes us along. Once the climb is over, we can register with the Guide, unlock a sequence slot and an item slot—one sequence slot and one item slot."

"The school has a Materials Department that can provide rentable equipment and sequences. Bro, we can form a team and grind credits together when the time comes!"

"I believe the three of us will be the brightest stars!"
