Background / History
Jack lived in Moen City’s impoverished old building. Despite extreme poverty and frequently going hungry, he tried to remain helpful, polite, and cheerful. His room was left open so neighbors could seek his help, and he considered even their burdens a form of happiness. He worked as a performer and acrobat, hoping to bring laughter to others even as his troupe declined. 7
He cared deeply for his mother, who lived in a nursing home, and concealed his hardship from her so she would not blame herself for his condition. He considered Remian a colleague, Anderson his sole close friend, Yulia someone connected to Jennifer, and Jennifer his most meaningful companion. 7
Jack did not love Yulia; his attachment to her stemmed from his wish to spend time with Jennifer. He genuinely enjoyed Jennifer’s company, and Jennifer was happier with him than with other adults. Jack did not share this affection for children generally, suggesting that their connection was unusually specific. 11 13
A corruptor posing as a doctor manipulated Jack’s fate. The false diagnosis, Remian’s slander, Anderson’s betrayal, Yulia’s rejection, and the planned murder of Jack’s mother were arranged to break him completely. In the original trajectory, his mother’s death destroys his remaining sanity, leading him to kill Jennifer after she turns back toward Yulia. 12 13
Wen Xishu intervenes by exposing the manipulation, saving Jack’s mother, and persuading Jack to protect Jennifer through the coming disaster. This changes the Tower of Desire scenario and causes Jack’s Fatal Deceptive Tower to restart with a new history: Jack and Jennifer become mutually protective monsters rather than victim and killer. 13 14
Appearance
Jack’s appearance changes drastically between his human life and his Tower manifestations.
- Before transformation — Extremely thin and often hungry; wore clown makeup during performances. 7
- Ghoul Jack — His face is covered with stitched-on facial parts taken from residents: four eyes, two crooked noses, and four irregular ears; only his own mouth remains visible beneath the composite mask. 7
- Deception Jack — Exceptionally tall and thin, with a decayed arm exposing white bone. His mask retains the composite eyes, ears, and noses of his victims. 14
- Slaughter Jack — Known to Tower of Slaughter explorers as the Face-stitcher. 32
Personality
Before his fall, Jack is unusually trusting, gentle, and self-sacrificing. When Wen Xishu enters his home without permission, Jack’s first response is to ask whether the stranger needs help. He is candid with Wen Xishu, readily sharing private information because he believes their shared concern for Jennifer makes them friends. 11
Jack wants to be remembered as a good person and repeatedly rationalizes the cruelty of people who exploit him. He attempts to reconcile with Remian, intends to leave his savings to Anderson, and hides his suffering from his mother. 7
His kindness is not limitless. Betrayal and grief turn his need for connection into obsession, resentment, and violence. As Ghoul Jack, he hunts Jennifer through the building while projecting his thoughts and grievances into the environment. 6 8
After Wen Xishu changes his fate, Deception Jack retains a friendly disposition toward Jennifer and recognizes Wen Xishu as a rare human friend. 14
Abilities & Skills
Mental Barrage

- Materialized bullet comments can be controlled with sufficient Tower Power. 18
- Jack uses the ability to broadcast his voice, form worm-written messages, and create a false projection of Yulia to lure Jennifer into looking back. 8
Slaughter Sequence: Flesh Stripping
Slaughter Jack possesses Flesh Stripping as his first-stage Slaughter Sequence. Its specific effects are not described. 32
Second-Stage Manifestations
When Slaughter Jack becomes enraged, resentment from his mind takes physical form as summoned entities. 32
- Summoned manifestations can serve as weapons.
- Summoned manifestations can serve as defensive shields.
- This second stage is considered more dangerous than Flesh Stripping. 32
