Wen Xishu wasn't used to this.
After saying goodbye to Old Zheng, Wen Xishu had returned to his own Strange Tower campus, ready to rest.
He made himself some food, then ate alone.
He hadn't actually been in this world for very long, but now he truly felt... as though his previous life had been a very, very long time ago.
His pace of life had changed enormously.
The Bunker accepted him in a completely different way now than when he first arrived.
In fact, if Wen Xishu was willing to spend more time in the Bunker, he would discover that he seemed to have everything.
In his previous life, the wounds of his childhood had left him yearning for certain things.
Now he had them all.
He had reliable companions. Old Zheng's character, the strength of Xun Hui, Wen Renjing, and the others... they were all incredibly dependable.
He also had teachers worth learning from and striving to catch up to.
Of course, there was no romance for him in the Bunker, but Wen Xishu figured he didn't really need that.
As for supplies, Wen Xishu had climbed the Strange Tower twelve times so far, bringing countless supplies back to the Bunker. As for financial freedom... well, he hadn't achieved that.
Wen Xishu was arguably the person least likely to starve in the Bunker. He had brought back plenty of supplies, but he certainly wasn't its richest resident.
Yet he found life in the Bunker boring, even with things like power and money still available for him to pursue and fight for.
Reflecting on this now, Wen Xishu understood the Old Principal a little better.
*The Old Principal and I really are the same kind of person. Everything in the Bunker really does seem dull compared to the Three
