A Prophecy Spanning a Thousand Years
In a corner of the dungeon, a middle-aged witch with a pale and ashen face lay on the ground, her eyes closed and her face a strange, pearly white.
Grindelwald squatted down and sighed, "Look at this poor woman— Seer can live to be over two hundred years old, but she may only have half her life left because of this accident."
Dumbledore grave expression. After examining the area, he said in a deep voice, "When did it begin?"
Grindelwald casually remarked, "That's how I found her—please, don't look at me like that—okay, I admit, I wanted to capture her to do some Prophecy or something, but I also saved her life, didn't I?"
There is nothing credible about what you say.
"But my actions can prove it, Albus. With your extensive network of information, you should know that all the people under my command who infiltrated the Ministry of Magic in various countries have been recalled." Grindelwald raised the corners of his mouth.
"And then start another great war?" Dumbledore said, completely distrusting the other man.
"No, I'll try a gentler approach, like—" Grindelwald said slowly, "A brand new School of Magic? I've had enough of Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and so on."
Dumbledore straightened up. "Don't even think about raising a bunch of radical, ambitious people."
Grindelwald smiled provocatively, "I heard that old Dippet wants you to be the next headmaster of Hogwarts? Is he senile?"
He poked Dumbledore's crimson goose-feather suit. "My dear friend, your ability to win people over is as terrible as your taste in clothes, as we've already proven, haven't we?"
"That was in the past, including—closest friends." Dumbledore slapped the other's hand away and said coldly.
The two old men used to argue quite fiercely when they were young, but Grindelwald was right about one thing: when it comes to manipulating people, Dumbledore wasn't really that good at it... Sean thought to himself.
However, at this point in time, Grindelwald had already proposed the plan to build a school, meaning that the turning point in the original Timeline started around this time.
He glanced at the elderly Dumbledore beside him. The old man had a sentimental expression on his face, and Sean thought he might even see a hint of joy in his eyes.
"Professor, I think your suit is very nice," Sean said quietly.
Dumbledore smiled but didn't say anything.
Just as young Dumbledore and Grindelwald were arguing (or rather, bickering, in Sean's opinion), the unconscious Cassandra Vabralski suddenly sat up, swaying slightly.
The argument was abruptly interrupted as both of them looked at Vabralski.
Vabralski raised her head listlessly, entering a trance-like state, her voice as ethereal as the clouds in the sky.
"I saw it! I saw blood and fire! The world is about to suffer a greater catastrophe than ever before!"
"On that parchment inscribed with history, flames spread from the past and rose anew—"
Vabralski made a "hoarse, hoarse" sound from her throat, her eyes rolled back and became bloodshot, and bright red blood snaked down her nostrils like a Little Snakes.
Her voice was filled with pain.
"The Seer fell one by one, the saints born of the Dark Heirs fought their entire lives against the island's queen, the giants rose and then lay dormant again, the smoke of war filled the land—"
"The foolish and pointless struggle angered the unknown, the ancient characters stung the world, Sin was born from the darkness—"
"After wreaking havoc with his raging Pride, He sank into prison, to slumber for a thousand years..."
Vabralski's body began to tremble, not only in her nostrils, but also in her eyes, mouth, and ears, with scarlet blood spreading down.
"Hah! Hah!" She gasped for breath twice, her breathing labored and labored.
"When that thousand years are over, the Sin will be released from prison, and He will appear in His own form. The Seven Deadly Sins, with Pride at the head, will grow, they will awaken, they will destroy—the old era will be burned to ashes, and the new era will be adorned with the blood of millions—"
"To wipe away the blood, the old era had to endure harsh punishments, Sin would be transformed into virtue—"
"Those Ancients awaken offer their souls, those corrupt beings of the old era give their blood; ' Pride ' will forgive the sins of the world, and humbly and mercifully embrace those evils—"
Vabralski's voice grew increasingly pained; she almost screamed her last words, "But you can't do it! You can't! Everyone will die!"
Then, she fainted again.
The young Grindelwald finally stopped smiling like that, and he slowly raised his head. "Albus..."
At this moment, all the scenes blurred, Sean flew through the darkness once again before landing steadily on the office floor.
He swallowed hard, then stared blankly at Dumbledore beside him.
As if waiting for him to process all of this, Dumbledore sat back down in his original spot and quietly watched Sean.
"Professor, I... I don't understand..." Sean finally spoke, his voice hoarse, "What was that Prophecy saying?"
Dumbledore said softly, "Sean, you're a smart boy. I thought you could understand."
"I..." Sean didn't know what to say.
He could certainly understand—the Prophecy seemed vague, but by combining it with Dumbledore and Grindelwald's unusual attitudes, one could grasp the key to the entire Prophecy ...
Dumbledore as if he were gently sharing his life experiences with a beloved junior; his voice was kind and peaceful.
"Then let me explain the cause and effect to you."
"I think you've always had this question: why are there fewer and fewer wizards using those Ancient Magic Runes these days?"
"It's not just a matter of the spells being updated and replaced, but rather that those ancient things have experienced a period of discontinuity..."
"In Vabralski's Prophecy, she mentioned a historical catastrophe—when the ancient wizards were powerful but willful, and they were always fighting each other tirelessly. During that time, the whole world, whether wizards or Muggle, was immersed in war."
"Perhaps it was an unknown ritual, or perhaps it was the will of the world? A calamity known as ' Sin ' was born. At that time, the whole world was immersed in fear. Wizards either killed each other or were crushed by ' Sin '... Wizards were regarded as some kind of 'pests'..."
"I heard a saying in the Muggle World that I think makes a lot of sense," Dumbledore chuckled self-deprecatingly, "That the only thing mankind can learn from history is that mankind never learns from history."
"Now, a thousand years after that period of history, the ' Sin ' has been unleashed once again."
Dumbledore's pale blue eyes were calm and deep as he looked at Sean with a serene expression.
"Sean, you are the Sin Form, the first of the Seven Deadly Sins, ' Pride Pride, ' the one who brings disaster to the world."
There will be two more chapters tonight!
