Horcrux Spell
He'd taken the bait... Sean played along with a shocked expression, saying incredulously, "Immortality? How is that possible...?"
"Draco, the glory of our Pure-blood nobles is unparalleled, and there is only one greatest obstacle to preventing this glory from continuing..." Gormlaith's voice became even more alluring, "And that is—death... When we no longer fear death, when we are no longer troubled by our mortal bodies, the glory of the Pure-blood nobles will forever hang at the pinnacle of the world..."
If you're not afraid of death, why did you become a ghost? And your Gaunt family's obsession with immortality is just too much... Sean thought to himself, but he had already guessed what the other party was about to say.
There are currently two known methods for achieving immortality in the Wizarding World: Philosopher's Stone and Horcrux. Of course, both methods have drawbacks. The former will turn the user into a decaying body, while the latter will significantly reduce intelligence. In addition, it is still uncertain whether Horcrux can grant immortality, after all, their inventor Herpo, has long since disappeared.
The method that Gormlaith proposed is most likely Horcrux.
Sure enough, the dark witch paused for a moment before continuing, "Draco, have you ever imagined what it would be like if your soul could be divided into several pieces and preserved in an indestructible container using a special method? As long as that container remains intact, you would be immortal..."
Sean does have some interest in Horcrux, not in creating such evil things, but in studying spells; after all, people are curious.
He cooperated by showing a hopeful expression, and asked somewhat eagerly, "Me... can I do it too?"
"Of course, of course," Gormlaith coaxed. "We are Pure-blood, we are steadfast partners, aren't we?"
"Then... then I..." Sean looked both tempted and afraid.
Gormlaith, however, was extremely generous at this point. "I will tell you a spell, and after you help me accomplish these things, I will tell you the specific steps on how to achieve immortality."
After it's done, they'll probably kill them to cover it up. How could the Gaunt family tell anyone else about the method to achieve immortality... Sean sneered to himself.
Furthermore, Sean does know how to create Horcrux, which involves murder. In other words, if Gormlaith really did tell him the correct incantation, he would be able to create Horcrux...
However, Gormlaith's words did reveal some information.
That means she didn't know the Horcrux Curse before this, meaning Salazar Slytherin, who wasn't fully awake yet, told her? Or did she obtain it directly in the Chamber of Secrets?
Actually, Sean had always been puzzled by one thing: Slytherin's purpose in leaving behind a Basilisk.
His goal in building the Chamber of Secrets of Secrets was obvious: to secretly teach Dark Arts to his favored Pure-blood students at Hogwarts. The existence of the Basilisk was rather strange.
Although the Basilisk is an extremely terrifying and powerful Magical Creatures, it is still just a Magical Creatures. Putting everything else aside, if the professors at the school find a way to enter the Chamber of Secrets, Sean is completely confident that they will successfully kill the Basilisk.
According to the rumors surrounding the Chamber of Chamber of Secrets, the Basilisk was left behind to purge Muggle- blooded wizards from Hogwarts Castle who were not qualified to learn magic, which is not a reasonable explanation.
It's very simple. The Basilisk has existed for almost a thousand years, and in all these years, there has only been one recorded death, and the victim Moaning Myrtle, happened to be at the exit of the Chamber of Secrets.
In other words, it was more like an accident than a premeditated murder.
Hogwarts has been around for a thousand years, so there must have been many Parseltongue entered the Chamber of Secrets, but the Basilisk didn't cause any horrific casualties. Come to think of it, a Basilisk usually has to resort to assassination. With so many non- Pure-blood students at Hogwarts, how long would it take to kill them all using such a slow and drawn-out method?
Therefore, Sean boldly speculated that the Basilisk was not left behind to eliminate non- Pure-blood Wizard at all, but was a lie fabricated by the descendants of Slytherin.
So what is the purpose of the Basilisk's existence? Gormlaith's appearance gave Sean another way of thinking.
The Basilisk is likely guarding something—like an unawakened Slytherin, some kind of treasure, or... the method and incantation for creating Horcrux?
This line of reasoning seems to make more sense.
Furthermore, Sean had always harbored great doubts about what Gormlaith had said. Leaving aside whether Slytherin still existed in this world, Gormlaith's motives were very strange.
She attempted to kill the professors to gain control of Hogwarts, an order that clearly did not come from Slytherin but rather from the cruel witch's own wishful thinking.
She felt that her ancestors would be pleased to see this and would want to present this 'gift' to him before he woke up.
Slytherin was unaware that, in order to maintain the purity of his bloodline, his descendants had been engaging in frequent incestuous marriages, which had clearly had a detrimental effect on their intelligence and character.
"What a heartless bastard..." Sean looked at Gormlaith in front of him.
The other party is still waiting for his answer.
Sean for a moment, then nodded hesitantly. "I... I might be able to try, ma'am..."
"Very good, Draco," Gormlaith said with a satisfied expression. "You, your parents, your descendants, and the entire Malfoy Family will enjoy glory because of the right choice you made today."
Immediately afterwards, she dictated the incantation for creating Horcrux directly to Sean.
As he memorized those complex and cumbersome incantations, Sean looked at his system panel with a strange expression.
Just now, the system notified me that a new spell has been added.
Horcrux Creation Spell Lvmax (Dark Arts, Ancient Magic)
Without any skill level displayed, he directly obtained the spell with the highest skill level.
Sean nodded thoughtfully to himself. It seemed that Horcrux Curse didn't require practice; being able to cast them correctly was enough.
However, this also means that Gormlaith didn't use a fake spell to deceive him...
Was he confident that a mere wizard like him wouldn't think of the steps to make Horcrux, or had he already made up his mind to kill him later?
Sean thought it was the latter.
Gormlaith also carefully instructed, "This spell is far beyond your current capabilities. Even the most outstanding Pure-blood Wizard would need several months or even half a year to fully master it. Remember, do not attempt it now, or you may be harmed by the spell."
Sean nodded, both apprehensive and delighted.
I've already learned the spell, big sister...
