The Sudden Attack
Sean saw the blank look on the girl's face, and his heart skipped a beat; he knew something was wrong.
Stephanie's psychological suggestion hasn't completely disappeared, and coupled with the mutual attraction between Sin, her feelings for herself seem to have become somewhat distorted.
His actions were tantamount to adding fuel to the fire...
I didn't think much about it when I bought the gift, but it's her birthday today after all...
Thinking of this, Sean pushed the cake over. "Make a wish, just in case the schedule gets messed up today and it suddenly ends."
He made a joke that didn't really mean anything.
To everyone's surprise, Stephanie turned serious upon hearing this. She hugged the gift Sean had given her tightly, her hands clasped together nervously, and she closed her eyes firmly.
A moment later, her eyelashes fluttered slightly, and she opened her eyes again.
"I... I made a wish..." Stephanie's voice was filled with nervousness and a hint of barely concealed anticipation.
No, why are you blushing like a teapot?... Looking at the blush appearing on the girl's cheeks, Sean inwardly groaned.
It seems like things are really going to go wrong...
He sighed inwardly, and finally said, "Happy birthday," after Stephanie blew out the candles.
He then left the scene somewhat awkwardly... Yes, he always felt that this was some kind of eerie crime scene.
The key point is that I was already deeply mired in trouble.
Haven't you noticed that lately Snape scans Sean with radar-like eyes whenever he sees Sean?
Leaving the Room of Requirement, Sean walked alone in the empty stone corridor.
Just as he was thinking about how to explain these things to Stephanie, he caught a glimpse of Hogsmeade out of the corner of his eye.
Normally, the continuous rain in Scotland wouldn't allow for such a long-distance view, but recently the weather has been unexpectedly good, and Sean's eyesight has always been excellent, so sometimes he can see the lights of that wizard town.
But tonight, the firelight there was a bit too bright.
Sean frowned and pulled out the Magical Telescope he had obtained from Newt West.
He strode onto the terrace and peered at Hogsmeade through his binoculars.
Sean's pupils suddenly contracted.
Hogsmeade is burning!
Not only that, he also saw strange wizards dressed in black robes casting spells indiscriminately, while the residents of Hogsmeade seemed to be putting up a fierce resistance.
Someone attacked Hogsmeade? How could that be?
Suddenly, Sean's vision was filled with a vast expanse of black particles that blotted out the sky. Now, he could even see the flickering red core at the center of the particles without a telescope.
Obscurus! That's Aurelius!
Sean could even feel Obscurus restlessness within his body, a mutual attraction between the life instincts of dark forces.
In their field of vision, the frenzied black particles, like a living whirlwind, swept towards the group of unidentified black-robed wizards from an unpredictable trajectory.
The black-robed wizards immediately shifted their target to attack Obscurus, but one unlucky fellow was a little slow to react and was completely enveloped by black particles, falling into the sky.
When he crashed heavily to the ground, his body was covered with black, twisted marks, and he was no longer breathing.
"Hiss..." Sean moved the binoculars away and gasped.
Aurelius truly lives up to his Obscurial has lived for nearly a century; his strength is probably second only to Dumbledore and Grindelwald.
However, what exactly was going on with this group of attackers who suddenly appeared...? Sean frowned.
Despite being guarded by Auror, Guard Corps, and Dementor, as well as Hogwarts ' magical defenses, this group managed to sneak in unnoticed.
Then they launched a massive attack?
What is their purpose?
Moreover, given Aurelius's strength, dealing with those guys should only be a matter of time... The professors must have realized it by now...
Besides, where is Dumbledore? He's not in the castle either.
Just then, Sean heard a tremor and an explosion coming from beneath his feet.
Hogwarts Castle has been attacked?!
Sean immediately ran towards the direction from which the sound came.
Halfway through the run, the stone wall in front of her began to move rapidly, and Stephanie pushed open the wooden door and stepped out.
Upon seeing Sean, she quickly said, "The explosion occurred on the first floor, near the Great Hall. There were also explosions in the corridor leading to the second floor and in the courtyard. The enemy must have sneaked in from the ground floor. It seems that Hogwarts ' defense system detected them."
Stephanie's lips were still smeared with sweet cream, and she held a cake she had only taken two bites of. Her beautiful eyes were filled with suppressed anger, and even her allure had diminished considerably.
"How many people have entered the castle?" Sean asked quickly.
"The permissions granted by the Room of Requirement are insufficient. I can only sense some anomalies near the buildings. Currently, there don't seem to be many attack points, but the possibility of attackers coming in groups cannot be ruled out."
As they talked, the two ran quickly toward the first floor. Hogwarts' unruly, sprawling staircases became as docile as little pets in front of them, with the nearest steps automatically moving to their feet for running.
As they were running, a stern female voice echoed throughout the entire castle.
"Hogwarts has been attacked. All students, please return to the Common Room!"
Sean didn't even glance in the direction of the Ravenclaw Tower, and continued running wildly towards the first floor.
He had a feeling that the attackers had ulterior motives.
Just as he reached the widest corridor on the second floor, a dark curtain brushed against Sean's cheek, causing his pupils to shrink, and he heard Dave's warning in his pocket.
"There's an invisible attacker!"
A huge, upright figure swung its claws and pounced down from the ceiling!
Sean immediately took a half step back and grabbed Stephanie's hand.
With the sudden stop, the two fell backward, and the ground they were about to run across was filled with flying gravel!
A huge, ape-like creature slammed into the ground! Then, without any hesitation, the creature roared and pounced on Sean.
The creature was about two meters tall, with silver-white hair all over its body. Its ugly face had a protruding, gorilla-like mouth and nose, and saliva was dripping from between its sharp teeth.
"Obscurus ...and its eyes are off..." Sean's eyes darkened. He raised his right hand and pointed his empty sleeve at the Obscurus.
A blue-green Thorn Sheath shot out like a bullet, its body expanding wildly during flight!
The incredibly strong Obscurus instantly lost sight of its human target, its vision completely dominated by a terrifying Swooping Evil!
Without hesitation, the Obscurus roared and its claws whistled through the air, ready to smash the strange Swooping Evil's bony head into dust.
Dave's actions took the Obscurus by surprise. It didn't even let out a threatening roar; its crimson eyes, almost drawing a red line, were Greed fixed on the Obscurus's brain.
"Thump!" The Obscurus's right claw slammed hard into Dave's white, bony head.
However, there was only a dull thud; Dave's head didn't budge.
"Kaha—" Without giving the Obscurus a second chance, Dave's terrifying maw suddenly opened. Its body, which was far larger than that of its normal counterparts, did not make it sluggish. Its larger body also brought greater strength and more terrifying speed!
Obscurus could even retract its aching right claw, an even more excruciating pain surged forth in the next instant.
Dave slammed past the Obscurus's claws and bit down hard on its head!
The teeth-grinding "crack" sound and the sound of skull shattering blended together, and the Obscurus's hard skull only managed to withstand three short sides.
Red and white things splashed everywhere!
"Dave, come back," Sean called out.
Dave glanced longingly at the limp body of the Obscurus before it quickly flew back to Sean's side to keep watch.
"Are you alright?" Sean reached out his hand to Stephanie, who had fallen to the ground.
The other person didn't answer immediately, but stared blankly at the ground.
Sean followed the gaze and saw a pile of cream cake that had been smashed to pieces on the ground.
"Um... I'll make you another one next time..."
Before Sean could finish speaking, Stephanie got up on her own.
She pulled out a pale blue wand that was thin at the top and thick at the bottom, with a tip almost as sharp as a needle.
The girl's eyes burned with a fury that Sean didn't recognize, and her voice was like falling into an ice cave.
"Unforgivable..."
Are you that excited...?
Before Sean could say anything more, Dave's warning came again.
"Enemy in sight! Around the corner!"
Sean looked up, wand in hand, and saw two wizards shrouded in black robes running around the corner, wands in hand.
They saw Sean and Stephanie, but the two didn't hesitate at all towards the two students who were obviously still children, and immediately raised their wands.
However, the fastest wasn't Sean, but Stephanie.
Her pale blue pupils instantly transformed into starry black pupils, and before the two black-robed wizards could even utter their incantations, a dreamy, infatuated look appeared in their eyes.
Without any hesitation, Stephanie flicked her wand, and a pale silver spell shot out. Sean, standing beside her, even felt the hairs on his body stand on end.
The spell struck a black-robed wizard, his fascinated expression freezing on his face, making him look like a mirror that had been violently smashed to the ground.
He was rapidly disintegrating, with irregular fragments of his body shooting out. His "sharp" half of his face even severed the cheek of his teammate.
Sean was dumbfounded.
He had never seen this spell before. It seemed to be a fusion of the Petrification Charm and the Severing Charm, and its power was terrifying.
This girl's extensive reading has clearly paid off.
Despite his complaints, Sean raised his wand, ready to take care of the remaining guy.
Just then, a stern and Wrath voice boomed like thunder.
At the end of the corridor, Professor McGonagall stood with her eyes wide open in anger, her hair already disheveled.
"How... how dare you... attack my student! How dare you!"
Amid Professor McGonagall's furious roar, the remaining black-robed Wizarding Robes began to twist on their own, his upper body transforming into a Giant Python that tightly coiled around him, its collar turning into a snake's head that bit into his throat.
Sean didn't even hear the man's scream, because at the same moment the clothes turned into snakes, the curtains hanging in the corridor suddenly expanded and hardened, crushing the man like a collapsing boulder.
Blood seeped out from under the curtains.
All of this happened in an instant, and a strange light flashed in Sean's eyes.
Exquisite Transfiguration! This is the goal I've been striving to achieve!
"Are you two alright?!" Professor McGonagall rushed over and carefully examined the two of them.
"Actually, they haven't made a move against us yet..." Sean said, then quickly swallowed back his lighthearted joke.
There was no way around it, she looked rather frightening... Professor McGonagall looked like an Wrath lioness protecting her cubs, her breathing rapid and her gaze sharp.
"Why not go back to the Common Room?"
Stephanie's wand drooped, and she looked down in frustration at the shattered cake.
Sean quickly replied, "I thought I'd come to help... Professor, you know."
Professor McGonagall glanced at the Swooping Evil hanging upside down from the ceiling, then at the enemy shattered on the ground like a mirror. She hesitated for a moment, then finally nodded.
"You are as brave as ever... Follow me, Miss Ollivander, Mr. Wallop, don't go anywhere!"
The group ran downstairs towards the site of the ongoing explosion. On the way, Professor McGonagall told Sean about what had happened that night.
Indeed, a group of Dark Wizard somehow managed to sneak into Hogwarts. Some of them caused trouble in Hogsmeade, while others sneaked into the castle.
However, Hogwarts ' defenses were not to be underestimated. As soon as the group sneaked in, the professors received a warning from the castle.
All the professors launched an attack, and the attackers were stopped on the first floor. Only a few escaped to the upper floors, where Professor McGonagall was sent to pursue them.
"Professor, were there quite a few Obscurus among the attackers?" Sean asked.
Professor McGonagall nodded. "I suspect that's one of the reasons they were able to infiltrate. They brought a lot of strange Obscurus with them, hoping to use them for a surprise attack... However—"
"What?"
Professor McGonagall looked puzzled. "The number of attackers was actually not that many. Some of the professors went to the various Common Room to protect the students, while the rest fought off the attackers—to be honest, we're almost at the end of it now."
As they spoke, they ran down to the first floor. At the entrance to the Great Hall, Professor Flitwick was holding a wand, and a large man in a black robe was controlling him as he repeatedly slammed into the stone pillars on either side. He was clearly on the verge of dying.
Other professors were also fighting off several stubborn attackers.
With lightning speed, Sean unleashed a Silent Stinging Hex, sending out a wizard who was entangled with Professor Sprout into a miserable scream. The scream was quickly interrupted by Professor Sprout's Petrification Charm.
"Well done, Wallerup," Professor McGonagall glanced around. "There weren't many attackers... We're going to patrol the castle one more time, then head to support Hogsmeade. But we shouldn't have to worry about that place..."
Yes, Aurelius is there... Sean's nod of agreement froze.
Obscurus...
No, these attackers are delaying the professor inside the castle; their original target wasn't anyone in the castle.
Their target is Aurelius!
