Background

Little Marten is a Heavenly Demon Marten of the Demon Region's Four Overlord Clans and the son of the Heavenly Demon Marten Tribe's Patriarch, Gu Gan. Before his fall, he was the tribe's Young Patriarch and a Peak Death Profound Stage expert. After acquiring the Mysterious Stone Talisman, he was ambushed by an unknown expert; his physical body was destroyed, while his Demonic Spirit fled into the talisman. He believes the talisman was connected to the attack and warns Lin Dong not to reveal it carelessly 3 5.

Lin Dong discovers him in the Stone Talisman Space as a palm-sized black marten. Though Little Marten initially rejects Lin Dong's insistence on calling him a second brother, he eventually accepts the name “Little Marten” and becomes Lin Dong's long-term companion 3 5.

His recovery becomes one of the group's central goals. Lin Dong helps him consume the Azure Water Demonic Python's Demonic Spirit, later sacrifices the Heavenly Crocodile Bone Spear's Artifact Spirit so Little Marten can devour the Ancient Heavenly Crocodile's Demonic Spirit, and ultimately provides the Life and Death Samsara Pill needed to reforge his body 37 145 174.

After returning to the Heavenly Demon Region, Little Marten confronts Hao Jiuyou's attempt to seize the Young Patriarch position. With Gu Gan restored and Hao Jiuyou exposed as a Yi Mo collaborator, Little Marten officially resumes the position of Young Patriarch 386 390 392.

In his weakened Demonic Spirit state, Little Marten appears as a palm-sized black marten that Lin Dong repeatedly mistakes for a mouse. After recovering, he can assume a handsome human form and manifest his enormous Heavenly Demon Marten true form 3 246.

Despite his arrogance, he is loyal to those he accepts as family.
