Background

Tang San grew up in Holy Soul Village as Tang Hao’s son. He entered Notting Academy as a work-study student alongside Ye Qiu, carrying both Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer as Twin Martial Souls. Yu Xiaogang identified his second martial soul, after which Tang San formally became Yu’s disciple. 6 7

At the Seventh Dorm, Tang San defeated Wang Sheng and briefly became dorm boss, only to be defeated by Xiao Wu upon her arrival. He accepted the loss without anger, though he refused to call her “Sister Xiao Wu.” 7 8

During the academy break, Tang San returned to Holy Soul Village and learned that Tang Hao had departed, leaving him behind. He became increasingly independent while maintaining his loyalty to both his absent father and Yu Xiaogang. 24 34

After Xiao Wu was taken by the Titan Giant Ape in the Star Dou Great Forest, Tang San pursued her despite being injured. He fought and defeated a Man Faced Demon Spider, but was severely wounded and left unconscious; Ye Qiu later prevented him from claiming the spider’s spirit ring. 157 158 159

Spirit Hall’s pursuit of Tang San escalated after Tang Hao’s identity as a wanted criminal became known. Tang San was protected and repeatedly rescued by Yu Xiaogang, Flender, Liu Erlong, and Tang Hao, but eventually became an imperial wanted criminal himself. 213 214 250 270

Personality

Tang San is cautious, disciplined, and highly guarded. Even as a child, he prepared to use a Silent Sleeve Arrow when he perceived danger, while concealing his killing intent behind an outwardly calm expression. 5 6

He is intensely loyal to Yu Xiaogang and Tang Hao. He defended Yu Xiaogang when his dormmates criticized the Master, and continued to show submission and concern toward Tang Hao even after being mistreated by him. 24 287

His concern for Xiao Wu develops into possessiveness and jealousy. He repeatedly declares that he will protect her, is troubled by her closeness with Ye Qiu, and pursues her into the Star Dou Great Forest when she is taken away. 51 67 89 157

Later events reveal a harsher and more pragmatic side. When his Godly Zhuge Crossbow is used to hunt rabbits, he violently reclaims it, cripples Cai Kun, steals Hang Han’s money pouch, and attempts to eliminate witnesses before his identity is exposed. 294 295
