That afternoon, Uchiha Fugaku returned from the Military Police Force.
"You're back!"
Uchiha Mikoto stepped forward and helped him take off his outer robe.
Her long black hair was pinned up, and she wore a dark dress. Her demeanor was gentle and serene.
A smile rested on her face, and there was delight in her voice. Clearly, she was in an excellent mood.
"What happened to make you so happy?"
Uchiha Fugaku asked.
"Itachi just received his mission pay. At noon today, Itachi treated Sasuke and me to a meal at a restaurant. It's a shame you went to the Military Police Force; otherwise, the four of us could have had a family meal together."
Uchiha Mikoto said.
"That is a shame."
Regret showed on Uchiha Fugaku's face, but he felt none in his heart.
He truly had no fondness for that ungrateful wretch, Uchiha Itachi. Whenever he could avoid him, he generally chose to do so.
"Where are Itachi and Sasuke?"
"Sasuke is practicing in the backyard. Itachi received a mission this afternoon and has already left."
Uchiha Mikoto said.
"Oh."
Uchiha Fugaku responded and headed to the backyard.
There, Second Pillar's small figure was practicing kunai throwing.
His technique with concealed weapons was already quite skilled, and there was a smoothness to his movements.
His accuracy was good as well—nine out of ten throws struck the center of the target.
"Not bad!"
