And so, the journey to find Kiana ended before it had even begun.

Thinking about it now, if he had chased after her, he might have opened up an entirely different timeline.

"A Li? Hey! Moshi moshi?"

The sweet shout pulled Fu Li back to his senses. He sniffed at the burnt smell in the air and cried out, "Oh no!"

Then he hurriedly dealt with the burnt mess in the pot.

Watching Fu Li like this, Kiana frowned in displeasure.

Her voice turned cold as she demanded in a wary tone, "Who was that woman?"

"That one? Which one?"

"Who else could it be? The one you just mentioned!"

As Fu Li dumped out the blackened sludge from the pot, he thought for a moment before realizing she meant the little cat he had picked up and carefully cared for at the hotel.

Scrubbing the bottom of the pot, he answered casually, "A white-haired kitten with heterochromatic eyes. What else could it have been?"

Kiana gave a disdainful hum. "A kitten? Do you describe your cats by the feel of every inch of their skin? And say they have curves in all the right places?"

A woman's sixth sense was already quite accurate, and an idiot's intuition was even more terrifyingly precise.

Kiana's instincts told her that what Fu Li had mentioned was absolutely not some kitten. There was a ninety percent chance—no, practically a hundred percent chance—that it was a woman!

This was hilarious. Who understood how it felt? This big white cat was actually jealous of herself!

"Wasn't I just trying to make you jealous?"

Fu Li pursed his lips, looking thoroughly wronged. "You toyed with me like that just now. Am I not even allowed to take a little verbal advantage?"

"Besides, why are you reacting so strongly to me taking another woman to a hotel?"

His delicate brows curled into a teasing shape as he joked, "Could it be that you're planning to give up on Mei and make a move on this promising quality prospect instead? If so, I'll have to make a move on Mei."

He made no effort to hide his desire for Mei in his words, though Kiana still could not tell how much of it was real.

"In your dreams! Ptooey, ptooey, ptooey!"

She spat out those words and turned away without looking back.

Fu Li did not take it too seriously. Young girls had tempers that flared up quickly and faded just as fast.

Once she had a proper meal to fill her stomach, this little grasshopper would forget all about it.

The facts proved that Fu Li understood Kiana Kaslana very well indeed.

The moment she sat down at the table, the white-haired girl returned to her usual lively self.

Though she was rather obviously putting on a show by playing a feeding game with Mei at the table, and looking smugly at someone after every bite she fed her.

Fu Li silently sped up his eating.

Then the girl panicked. How could her slow, drawn-out feeding game compare to Fu Li transforming into a ravenous glutton and wolfing everything down?

At this rate, the food would all be gone before she had even filled her stomach!

"You! Wait!!!"

Kiana immediately grabbed onto the Path of Gluttony and began refining food in an instant, just like Fu Li, holding up her plate and dumping its contents into her mouth wholesale.

Unfortunately, she still lost in the end. She was only human, after all. Unlike Fu Li, empowered by the Human Immortal Path, she could not crunch up the plate and swallow it along with the food.

After the meal, Kiana rinsed her mouth and squatted beside Fu Li, who was lying on the floor.

One slender finger poked at his round, bulging belly now and then, while her other hand supported her chin. "Does eating like that taste good?"

"A qualified warrior cannot have food he is unable to eat."

"That is assuming porcelain counts as food."

Still supporting her chin, Kiana got up and ran off, returning with a plate.

She took a huge bite out of it with an "Awooo!" Her dinosaur-like bite force easily shattered the thing to pieces.

The girl chewed for a while.

"Ptooey, ptooey, ptooey! It doesn't taste good at all!"

"Even if you can't eat it, don't waste it."

"Oh, then you eat it."

Kiana handed him the remaining part in her hand. Fu Li sat up, took it, and casually stuffed it into his mouth.

After finishing it, he called out, "Mei?"

Mei sat quietly on the sofa, seemingly lost in thought.

She was startled when she heard him call. "What is it?"

"Could you bring Bronya over here?"

As he spoke, Fu Li gave Kiana a look of exasperation, as if blaming her for not talking this girl through things while they were bathing.

Kiana thought, I nearly died from a nosebleed, and that's somehow my fault?

Bronya was tiny, so Mei easily carried her over.

The three exchanged looks—

"Anyway, let's strip the duck first."

Fu Li suggested.

"Agreed."

"Agreed."

The vote to de-escalate the threat passed unanimously.

"Then who will do it?"

"I will."

Mei volunteered. "What should I do?"

"First, remove the Star-stone Shields."

The girl did as instructed, taking apart Bronya's remaining five C-rank shields.

The girl did not react at all, peaceful as a little sleeping angel.

"You filthy rich bastard!"

Kiana looked on with envy. She had saved up for ages just to buy one Soth, while the price of each of those shields could buy more than a dozen mechanical dogs with money left over.

C-rank equipment cost three to five times as much as D-rank equipment, but defensive gear was scarce and in high demand. The black market always drove their prices sky-high.

Fu Li could not stand watching any longer. "I already gave you one, so stop staring at someone else's equipment."

Kiana became unhappy. "You didn't say that when we stripped Susanna... Wait! This little runt isn't the woman you said you took back to the hotel and got handsy with, is she?!"

"What?"

Mei, who was stripping the duck's equipment, felt her pupils shake. What had she just heard?!

Fu Li looked utterly speechless. "Look at this duck's body. Which part of her fits the description of having curves in all the right places?"

Rubbing her chin as she inspected Bronya, whose chest was flat against her back, the white-haired girl smiled. "True."

As she said that, she proudly puffed out her own C-cup chest.

"Actually, it's only a B."

"Shut up!"

Under Fu Li's careful guidance, Mei soon removed all five priceless Star-stone Shields.

She wiped the sweat from her forehead and asked, "What next?"

"Now remove the armor."

Bronya's legs were wrapped in a layer of advanced powered armor. At first glance, it seemed intended to help her, whose legs were inconvenient to use, move and float around.

In reality, the girl relied entirely on Heavy-duty Rabbit's anti-gravity module to float. The leg armor existed to deliver a brutal beating to any unfortunate fool who thought her legs were weak.

Bad legs did not mean she could not kick people. Bronya was a complete A-rank, with no weaknesses in close combat.

Removing the leg armor was more laborious than taking off the Star-stone Shields. Only with Kiana lending a hand did they manage to remove it all.

After the leg armor came off, Kiana quietly stuffed it into her Fourth-Dimensional Skirt. Fu Li rolled his eyes when he saw it but said nothing.

Sharp-eyed Mei spoke up to stop her. "Wait, Kiana!"

"Huh? Mei..."

Realizing she would not be making any extra cash, the white-haired girl looked pitifully aggrieved.

"That's not what I mean."

The girl shook her head. "Take that out first."

"Fine."

Seeing Kiana obediently take out her spoils, Mei walked over and, sure enough, pulled out a familiar magnetic card from it.

"This is?"

"ME Inc.'s highest-level access card."

Mei smiled at Fu Li's question. "With it, you can move through ME Inc. without obstruction. I used to have one too, so I could recognize it."

Rather than saying she used to have one, this was the very card she had held in the past.

Noticing the complicated smile Mei was trying her best to suppress, Fu Li fell silent for a moment before saying, "Then keep it."

"Oh, okay."

Kiana nodded and casually shoved the magnetic card into her pocket.

Fu Li immediately grabbed her cheeks and pulled them. "I meant Mei should keep it!"

Mei hurriedly waved her hands. "It's fine, it's fine! Let Kiana keep it! It's useless to me anyway."

"See? Mei said so!"

Kiana covered her reddened cheeks and protested. She took out the keyring from her shirt pocket, solemnly clipped the magnetic card onto it, then carefully tucked it back into her pocket for safekeeping.

"Whoever holds this card shall rule ME Inc.!"

"If you can wipe out an organized Titan and drone force, ruling ME Inc. would not be impossible."

"Then, then this young lady will need to grow a little stronger first..."

Fu Li wanted to mock her for dreaming, but when he remembered that this silly girl would truly become an S-rank powerhouse in the future, he could not help but feel that Heaven, like the people of Shenzhou, favored white-haired beautiful girls.

"Keep dismantling."

He spoke.

Kiana asked strangely, "Haven't we already removed everything?"

"We haven't stripped her clothes yet."

Mei froze for a moment. "So that earlier line was not just a metaphor for disarming her?"

"It was, but Bronya's armaments have not been completely removed yet."

Fu Li lifted the little girl's hem and pointed at her slender, supple waist.

The instant before his Honkai Energy-wreathed finger touched her skin, a silver-gray bodysuit appeared in their field of vision, wrapping her young body completely from every angle without a single blind spot.

He withdrew his hand. "There. That's it."

Kiana sucked in a breath. "What the heck is this now?!"

She increasingly felt that she and Bronya did not belong to the same world. Why did this girl have so many miscellaneous components on her?

"Imperial Military Bio-Armor. An excellent C-rank individual combat armament created through the blood, sweat, and tears of countless Anti-Entropy scientists. It also comes with four functions: a personal terminal, camouflage mode, an EMP generator, and remote control."

Fu Li stood up, leaving space for the two girls. "I already removed the EMP generator and personal terminal when I knocked her out, to block any possible signal transmitters under her skin. You two can remove the rest."

"Signal transmitters? That sounds really scary..."

Kiana smacked her lips, then suddenly had an idea. "A Li, A Li! This young lady has discovered a problem!"
