Background

Mei was born at Anti-Entropy headquarters and consequently holds Anti-Entropy citizenship. She awakened a natural Stigmata as a child, but its power damaged her body; her father, Raiden Ryoma, obtained the Conquest Gem to suppress the unstable Stigmata. 26 33

She was formerly the daughter of ME Inc.'s president. After Ryoma was arrested for allegedly defrauding investors of US$3.4 billion, ME Inc. passed to Cocolia, Mei lost her family wealth, and her classmates began isolating and harassing her. She defended herself from both classmates and hired thugs with her swordsmanship, but remained deeply lonely and conflicted over the accusations against her father. 23

Kiana's friendship, along with Fu Li's presence, became an important source of support during this period. When Fu Li invited her to join an alleged exploration of a world bubble, Mei accepted immediately, prioritizing their friendship despite the danger. 23 25

Anti-Entropy's pursuit and Bronya's presence intensify her guilt over involving Kiana and Fu Li, as well as her resentment toward the people tied to her father's downfall. She is fiercely protective once she accepts someone as a friend. Mei willingly exhausts herself to provide Honkai Energy for Fu Li's Shadow Blades, threatens Bronya when she believes Fu Li may be endangered, and accepts danger without hesitation if it can help her companions. 38 46
