"Want a taste?" Kayson tore a drumstick from each of the two chickens and handed them to Lupin.

Lupin gnawed through both drumsticks in a few bites, then burped.

"How did they taste?" Kayson asked.

Lupin pursed his greasy, glossy lips. "How should I put it... I couldn't taste anything."

Kayson sighed helplessly and handed both chickens to Lupin. He was young and had a big appetite anyway; no matter what, he could finish them.

"But it really is strange. Why did ordinary chickens cook just by being roasted by you, or dipped in lava? And why did they turn square? They even had flavor!"

"I simply cannot figure it out." Lupin quickly stuffed both chickens into his stomach and spoke in a daze.

"Don't worry about that... that's just how the code was written." Kayson shrugged.

"What? What code?" Lupin asked in confusion.

"Nothing. Let's go upstairs. It's freezing down here."

After returning to the first floor, the two of them rushed to the little sofas bathed in sunlight like cold-blooded animals, quietly waiting for the sun to warm their corpses... bodies.

"You two!" Sirius suddenly appeared behind them and patted their shoulders.

"What is it?" Kayson turned to glance at him.

"I was just curious why you suddenly became like Dumbledore—two old men who loved basking in the sun."

"We just came up from the cellar. Honestly, summer in the Black family manor is much damper and colder than winter." Lupin flipped over the hand resting on the armrest, letting the sun warm its other side.

"It's a shame this place is too small and cluttered. If it were as big as your office, Kayson, we wouldn't be so bored. We might even be able to play some polo." Sirius suddenly suggested.

"Polo..." Kayson unconsciously raised his chin.
