After a day's march, the troops finally arrived at the designated location. It was more or less the same as the hastily drawn map. The Legion's reconnaissance Scouts truly were professionals!
The terrain here was flat, making it an ideal battlefield for a frontal clash. Henry ordered the camp to be set up, and the soldiers swiftly got to work.
The Imperial army divided up the tasks. Some erected tents, some dug trenches, and some laid traps. The private troops followed their example, learning their methods.
Henry led several dozen officers up a nearby slope and observed the movements of the Half-Orc army in the evening sunlight.
The enemy camp was enormous and packed with troops, but it looked somewhat disorganized.
Night fell deep. Hundreds of bonfires blazed brightly, illuminating the surrounding tents and the stern faces of patrolling soldiers.
They were now within arm's reach of the Half-Orcs. An encounter battle could even break out during the night.
