Background / History

Tobirama Senju served as the Second Hokage of Konoha, succeeding his elder brother Hashirama Senju, and was known as a hardliner who prioritized the stability and defense of the village above all 4 11 22. During his lifetime, he invented numerous jutsu, founded the Ninja Academy, and established core institutions, though many of his more dangerous inventions were banned by Hashirama for safety 17 59. He personally selected and trained Hiruzen Sarutobi as his successor 11.

After his death—which occurred during the First Ninja World War at the hands of the Gold and Silver Brothers (Kinkaku and Ginkaku)—Tobirama resided in the Pure Land 10. He later joined the "Ninja World Chat Group" led by Makoto Ito, where he frequently clashed with Uchiha members like Madara and Izuna 4 6. Upon learning through the chat group that Hiruzen and Danzō had effectively diluted and dismantled the Senju clan, manipulated Konoha politics, and driven the Uchiha clan to ruin, Tobirama fell into deep fury and regret over his choice of successor 13 24 43. Following his resurrection mechanics via the group chat, he returned to Konoha physically, joined the newly restructured Research Department as a vice-head alongside Izuna Uchiha, and participated in village administration under Tsunade 263 318 319.
