History
Founding and naming
Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha founded Konoha after becoming weary of the Warring States era and seeking peace through a unified village. It was described as the Ninja World’s first village. 99
Madara named the village after Hashirama’s Wood Release, while Hashirama named its leader the Hokage after Madara’s Fire Release. Hashirama initially wanted Madara to be Hokage, but the village elected Hashirama instead. 145
Early institutions
Tobirama founded the Ninja Academy, which allowed commoners to train as shinobi; Minato Namikaze cited it as the opportunity that enabled his own rise from a commoner ninja to Fourth Hokage. 12
Tobirama later criticized the Academy’s modern curriculum and graduation requirement, believing the Three Body Technique alone was inadequate preparation for actual warfare. 17 53
Internal decline and political conflict
Konoha remained prosperous in the present era, with busy streets, merchants, civilians, and shinobi, but its past leaders identified deep institutional problems beneath that prosperity. 9
- Tobirama believed Hiruzen Sarutobi’s policy of encouraging Senju intermarriage with commoners diluted the Senju bloodline and hastened the clan’s disappearance. 24
- Fugaku Uchiha stated that the Uchiha Clan was increasingly suppressed after Tobirama became Hokage and that this pressure intensified under Hiruzen. 14
- During the Nine-Tails attack, Root detained the Uchiha Clan rather than allowing it to assist Minato; Fugaku also stated that neither Root nor Anbu appeared on the battlefield. 122
- Shisui Uchiha, a Konoha-loyal Uchiha prodigy, was ambushed by Danzō, who took his eyes after learning of his Mangekyō Sharingan. 43
Danzō’s brief rule and Tsunade’s succession
Following Hiruzen’s death, Danzō declared himself Konoha’s Fifth Hokage despite opposition from clan heads, jōnin, Kakashi, Jiraiya, and Tsunade’s supporters. Hokage Rock construction had already begun on Danzō’s likeness. 281 284
Danzō was removed after Tsunade returned to Konoha. His Root and cooperating Anbu were detained for investigation, and the carving of his face on Hokage Rock was ordered destroyed. Tsunade subsequently assumed the position of Fifth Hokage. 295

The village’s new administrative framework is referred to as the Six Department System and was presented as a restoration of Konoha’s former power. 325
Military Power
- The Military Department was established with 1,000 elite shinobi, identified as Konoha’s strongest ninja. 327
- Its Forest of Death base includes training grounds, combat areas, residences, and farmland. 327
- Makoto and Hashirama use Wood Release to accelerate crops, allowing the department to produce food rapidly and potentially support Konoha’s self-sufficiency. 327
- The Konoha 12 each accepted a Nine-Tails and became jinchūriki; Makoto later distributed additional Nine-Tails to Neji Hyūga, Rock Lee, and Tenten. 183 226
- Makoto’s own combat power includes Mangekyō Sharingan, Susanoo, Sage Art Wood Release, and Nine-Tails Mode. 226
- Konoha’s revived residents include Hashirama Senju, Madara Uchiha, Tobirama Senju, Minato Namikaze, Fugaku Uchiha, and other historical shinobi. Their resurrection was attributed to Makoto Ito. 364
- By the Five Kage Summit period, Konoha was described as having jōnin in abundance and Kage-level fighters in unusually high numbers. 364
Major Conflicts and Foreign Affairs
Hidden Grass Village campaign
Konoha’s Military Department attacked the Hidden Grass Village under the leadership of figures including Hashirama, Madara, and the Konoha rookies. The invading force deployed multiple Tailed Beasts, captured surviving ninja, and seized the village’s resources. 336
After the operation, Konoha withdrew with prisoners and spoils. The captured Grass ninja were taken to the Research Department. 336 342
Five Kage Summit
Tsunade called a Five Kage Summit to establish that she, rather than Danzō, was Konoha’s legitimate Hokage and to address Konoha’s new political position. 325 361
- Sunagakure — Gaara’s delegation arrived first and was received by Tsunade. Gaara was struck by Konoha’s resurrected shinobi and Makoto’s influence over the Military Department. 364
- Kumogakure — The Fourth Raikage attempted to assert dominance over Konoha, but later agreed to pay 10 billion ryō after facing Konoha’s leadership and military power. 364 371
- Iwagakure — Ōnoki recognized that Hashirama and Madara’s resurrection fundamentally altered the balance of power and rejected the Raikage’s proposal to attack Konoha. 381 386
Notable Locations
- Ninja Academy — Founded by Tobirama; trains both clan and commoner ninja. 12
- Hokage Rock — Site of the Hokage monuments; Danzō’s unfinished carving was destroyed after Tsunade’s succession. 295
- Forest of Death — Headquarters and training base of the Military Department. 327
- Uchiha Clan Compound — Left deserted following the Uchiha Clan’s destruction, with Sasuke as its sole resident. 122
- Research Department — Orochimaru, Tobirama, Izuna, and their researchers conduct experiments and technological work here. 342
Little Konoha
Little Konoha is a separate settlement created inside the Chat Group’s Duel Arena. Hashirama built its homes, walls, and gate with Wood Release, while its residents established clan-marked houses for the Senju, Uchiha, Hyūga, Hatake, Namikaze, Might, and Yūhi families. 53
The settlement was destroyed during the clash between Hashirama, Madara, and Might Duy, then rebuilt by Hashirama through his Wood Release: Village Creation Technique. 129 130
Food can be materialized directly within Little Konoha through the Chat Group, allowing its residents to hold feasts without exchanging ninjutsu or other resources. 130
