Background / History

Lin Yu was reborn on the Douluo Continent with memories and an adult mind from another world. He became the son of Lin Tian, commander of the Angel Legion, and Lin Nian; his new name matched his former one. 1 324

His mother was killed by a criminal soul master group when he was one year old. The loss devastated both Lin Yu and Lin Tian, though they gradually resumed their lives after a prolonged period of grief. 324

At age two, Lin Yu met seven-year-old Qian Renxue when she trained with the Angel Legion. He watched her spar daily, and their early familiarity developed into a lasting bond. 324 325 Before Qian Renxue departed Spirit City for her Heaven Dou infiltration mission, she jokingly asked whether he would marry her when he grew up; Lin Yu agreed. 327

At six, Lin Yu awakened the Elemental Angel, a divine-level Martial Soul with seven Ultimate Attributes. The Seven Elemental Gods descended and selected him as their inheritor, after which Qian Daoliu accepted him as his sole personal disciple. 2 3
