Early life and rise

Qian Daoliu was the son of Spirit Hall Pope Qian Lingchuan. Before awakening his Martial Soul, he had already mastered the Angel Sword Technique and idolized Golden Crocodile Douluo, then Spirit Hall's foremost young genius 311.

At six, he awakened the Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul with Innate Soul Power Rank 20. Under his father and Golden Crocodile Douluo's guidance, he immediately obtained two unusually high-age soul rings and reached Rank 23 311 312. His rapid growth placed him alongside Tang Chen and Chen Jianjun as the three great geniuses of their generation.

At eleven, Qian Daoliu had become a four-ring Soul Ancestor and Spirit Hall's strongest Core Disciple. He confronted child abductors in Shanshi Town, then joined Tang Chen and Chen Jianjun to investigate the Evil Spirit Master controlling them through Evil Spirit Seals 313 314. He severed the Evil Spirit Master's arm during their battle, though Golden Crocodile Douluo ultimately saved the three youths when the enemy's power rose to the Soul Saint realm 316.

Rivalry with Tang Chen and Chen Jianjun

After two years in Death Canyon, Qian Daoliu reached Rank 53 and captained Spirit Hall's team in the Advanced Elite Spirit Master Tournament. He defeated Chen Jianjun in the semifinals; his final clash with Tang Chen ended in a draw, while Spirit Hall claimed the championship 317 318 319.

His Angel Trials accelerated his cultivation beyond both rivals. At Rank 76, he overwhelmed Chen Jianjun and Tang Chen with Advanced Sword Intent, Angel Avatar, and Angel Domain 319 320. He later reached the Titled Douluo realm at twenty-four, completing his Martial Soul's evolution to six wings 320.

Tang Chen continued challenging him into adulthood. Although Qian Daoliu was already Rank 95 when Tang Chen reached Rank 91, he still faced his old rival at full strength 321. Their later all-out battle ended in a draw after Qian Daoliu borrowed Angel God's divine power; he nevertheless considered Tang Chen personally stronger 322.

Sea God Island and later life

Qian Daoliu and Tang Chen travelled to Sea God Island to seek a path toward godhood. There, both were defeated in sparring by Sea God's High Priest Bo Saixi and fell in love with her 322. Qian Daoliu disapproved of Tang Chen concealing his existing wife and child while pursuing Bo Saixi, but honored Tang Chen's request not to reveal it. Bo Saixi ultimately chose Tang Chen, and Qian Daoliu quietly withdrew from the relationship 322 323.

Still unable to forget Bo Saixi, Qian Daoliu eventually married for the continuation of the Six-Winged Angel Clan. He fathered Qian Xunji at sixty-two 323. After Chen Jianjun's final, life-risking challenge ended in the latter's death from his injuries, Qian Daoliu retired from public life and remained in the Worship Hall to protect Spirit Hall and cultivate its next generation 323.

Mentor to Lin Yu

Qian Daoliu recognized Lin Yu's Elemental Angel as a Divine-level Martial Soul and understood the danger posed by his inheritance from the Seven Elemental Gods. He concealed Lin Yu's status from the public to prevent Heaven Dou and Star Luo from targeting the child, then accepted him as his only personal disciple 2 3.

He personally arranged Lin Yu's early soul-ring hunts, trained his combat awareness and mentality, and had him reside in the Worship Hall 3 5 6. Qian Daoliu also privately arranged a marriage contract between Lin Yu and his granddaughter Qian Renxue, though he did not intend to force the union if they did not genuinely care for one another 3 6 7.

When Lin Yu's status as an Inheritor of God leaked, Qian Daoliu dispatched three Worship Elders to retrieve him and led the remaining elders to confront Bibi Dong 79. He ultimately prepared to sacrifice himself to open the Angel God's Gate of Inheritance for Qian Renxue, but Lin Yu intervened and opened the gate in his place, allowing Qian Daoliu to survive 222 223.

As a child, Qian Daoliu had short golden hair, clear eyes and brows, and a round yet already handsome face. He wore white, gold-trimmed Spirit Hall robes marked with the Angel Family crest 311. In adulthood, he remained a handsome blond man with striking features and an imposing aura 325.

His restraint gives way to fierce protectiveness toward those he considers family. Lin Yu's exposed identity causes him rare panic, and he directly confronts Bibi Dong when he suspects she endangered his disciple 79 80. His devotion to Qian Renxue is equally absolute: he accepts death as the price of opening her Gate of Inheritance and conceals his grief so she can face godhood without hesitation 222.
