Background
Tang San was the son of Tang Hao and inherited the Clear Sky Hammer alongside his Blue Silver Grass, making him a Twin Martial Soul wielder. Yu Xiaogang regarded Tang San’s Innate Full Soul Power and Blue Silver Grass as the means to validate his own martial-soul theories, cultivating him as his prized disciple. 54 65
While a third-year student at Nuoding Primary Spirit Master Academy, Tang San first encountered Lin Yu at Nuoding City’s Martial Soul Branch Hall. He immediately sensed that Lin Yu was unusual, though Lin Yu initially regarded him as incapable of affecting the continent’s future. 51
Tang San’s first confrontation with Lin Yu ended in a crushing defeat. His Blue Silver Grass, Tang Sect techniques, silver needles, and Silent Sleeve Dart all failed; the experience left him with a lasting psychological scar and a fixation on surpassing Lin Yu. 56 58
After Tang Hao and Xiao Wu were killed during the turmoil at Spirit Hall, the Asura God’s divine power saved Tang San through a Space Rift. The Asura God identified him as his chosen inheritor and ordered him to reach level 60 before undertaking the divine inheritance. 165 168
Tang San was later located by Tang Xiao and secretly trained near the Clear Sky Sect. There he learned Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer, found an Immortal Herb that accelerated his cultivation, and began adding spirit rings to the Clear Sky Hammer with the Asura God’s guidance. 168 204 205
Personality
Tang San began as a proud and confident prodigy who believed his Tang Sect arts, hidden weapons, Twin Martial Souls, and eventual eighteen spirit rings would ensure his supremacy. Repeated defeats by Lin Yu severely damaged that confidence, but each humiliation intensified his determination to retaliate. 56 58 65
His devotion to Xiao Wu was immediate and fierce: he challenged Lin Yu after Xiao Wu was badly injured and tried to shield her when Spirit Hall exposed her identity. 154 162
Following Tang Hao and Xiao Wu’s deaths, vengeance became Tang San’s overriding motive. He grew increasingly cold toward former friends and Yu Xiaogang, cared little for the fate of the two empires beyond their usefulness against Spirit Hall, and was willing to pay any price to kill Lin Yu. 168 205 227
His fear of Lin Yu developed into a deep psychological shadow. Even after reaching peak level 95, he was unable to resist Lin Yu’s Divine Pressure; nevertheless, he chose to make a final attack rather than submit. 229 251

- Silent Sleeve Dart — fired three concealed arrows from his sleeve; Lin Yu caught them barehanded. 56
- Godly Zhuge Crossbow — stated to be capable of instantly killing a Soul Ancestor-level opponent. 114
- Flying God Claw and Dragon Beard Needle — powerful hidden weapons forged before his rematch with Lin Yu. 114 156
- Sky Full of Falling Flowers — a mass-throwing technique; difficult for his early one-ring self to perform. 56 156
- Mother-Child Soul Chasing Life Taking Ball — explosive hidden weapon that releases paralytic, mind-confusing poison. 156
- King Yama’s Post — lethal hidden weapon technique which Tang San claimed could kill a Soul Saint at his Soul Ancestor cultivation if it landed. 156
- One Thousand and One Nights — his ultimate hidden-weapon technique, used in his final battle; Lin Yu dodged every projectile. 252
Clear Sky Sect Techniques
- Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer — one of the Clear Sky Sect’s three supreme techniques; Tang San fully mastered it during his hidden training. 168 204

- Exploding Rings — a Clear Sky Sect mystic skill, but it is not shown that Tang San personally mastered it. 230
Divine Slaughter’s Domain and Asura Inheritance
Tang San was the appointed inheritor of the Asura God, a God King-level deity. The Asura God repeatedly protected and accelerated his growth, including by granting God-Bestowed Spirit Rings, spirit bones, spirit-ring age increases, and benefits beyond the normal trial rewards. 166 224 244
- Divine Slaughter’s Domain — gained after achieving one hundred consecutive Hell Slaughter Arena victories, killing the Ten-headed Blazing Serpent, and escaping Hell Road. 224
- Asura Nine Trials — began after Tang San’s City of Slaughter ordeal; he had completed the fifth trial by level 89 and the seventh by level 94. 224 244 248

Relationships
- Tang Hao — Father. Tang San was overjoyed to learn that Tang Hao was the Clear Sky Douluo; Tang Hao died while attempting to rescue Tang San and Xiao Wu. 163 165
- Xiao Wu — Beloved companion whom Tang San fiercely protected. Her death, alongside Tang Hao’s, became the central cause of his obsession with revenge. 154 162 165 168
- Yu Xiaogang — Former teacher who treated Tang San as the proof of his martial-soul theories. Tang San initially pledged to avenge him, but later became distant and cold toward him. 54 65 227
- Tang Xiao — Uncle and Clear Sky Sect Master. He arranged Tang San’s hidden training, helped him cultivate the Clear Sky Hammer, and supported his return to the sect. 168 205 226
- Seventh Elder — Clear Sky Sect elder who first humiliated Tang San and rejected his return; Tang San later defeated him after reaching Soul Saint level. 220 226
- Asura God — Divine patron and chosen benefactor. The Asura God saved Tang San several times and expedited his cultivation, but could not prevent Lin Yu from ultimately killing him. 165 224 251
- Lin Yu — Primary enemy and lifelong fixation. Lin Yu repeatedly crushed Tang San in battle, creating a fear Tang San never overcame. 56 157 229 252
