When Qin Yi appeared before Yu Shang and An'an again, both of them sensed that something about him had changed, yet neither could put it into words.
Qin Yi's temperament had always been quite similar to Ju Yunxiu's: a reclusive hermit amid the mountains and forests, detached from the world with a touch of artistic refinement, rather than the immortal bearing and Daoist bones sort. Yet within that already secluded air, several traces of strange ethereality had somehow appeared. At first glance, he was clearly standing there; upon closer inspection, he seemed like an illusion; but when they looked seriously again, he was still there.
The feeling was difficult to describe, exceedingly strange. For one fleeting instant, Yu Shang even wondered whether she would embrace nothing but empty air if she went to hug Husband.
Fortunately, the sensation lasted only a moment. Qin Yi seemed to draw something back in, quickly returning to his original state. Seeing Yu Shang and An'an staring blankly, he smiled. "What is it?"
An'an said cautiously, "For a moment, for a moment, I thought Sir was not in this world at all."
Qin Yi smiled faintly.
Then that was right.
His attainments in the Path of Time could only be considered modest, but the fundamental imagery of being neither in the past, nor the present, nor the future had already taken shape. He had also grasped several special arts.
This would be immensely valuable in battle.
His enemies had often felt that Qin Yi possessed countless methods and was terribly difficult to deal with, but only Qin Yi himself knew that he actually had very few methods. It was not that he had learned little; he had learned a great deal. Yet in the end, all of it had melted into a single staff strike.
