Background

Liusu existed long before the kingdom of Southern Li and regards its political struggles as fleeting entertainment in her exceptionally long life. She created the Transverse Rift Valley, a dangerous region later explored by Qin Yi and Ye Ling. 25 58

In the ancient era, Liusu was the Human Emperor. Xu Buyi and the Qilin reveal that they served her, with the Qilin having once been her mount; they guarded her “tomb” for tens of thousands of years after her disappearance. 973 Her conflict with the Heavenly Emperor, Yao Guang, was not simply a contest for authority: Liusu opposed a system that would deny others the right to cultivate and survive. 786 802

After being reduced to a soul attached to the Wolf Tooth Club, she encounters Qin Yi shortly after his arrival in this world. Though Qin Yi initially treats the club carelessly, Liusu becomes his most consistent teacher, advisor, and companion. 3 Her recovery proceeds alongside Qin Yi's growth: she learns about the changed world through his experiences while directing him toward resources and cultivation methods that can restore her strength. 245

Appearance

Liusu's appearance changes drastically with her state of recovery. She is first known only as the voice within a Wolf Tooth Club, then as a small white-mist ghost. As her soul stabilizes, she can manifest as an extraordinarily beautiful woman with an ancient, regal bearing. 3 245 460 703

Personality

Liusu is proud, sharp-tongued, competitive, and easily provoked when her knowledge or abilities are questioned. She openly admits that she hates being surpassed, even while acknowledging that later generations may have improved upon ancient cultivation systems. 42

Her detachment from ordinary political conflict stems from age and experience rather than indifference to all life. She views the rise and fall of a small kingdom as one brief wave among countless worlds, yet she retains a strong personal philosophy regarding freedom, cultivation, and survival. 25 786 Her ideal is not to monopolize power, but to allow “everyone” the chance to become a dragon through cultivation and personal striving. 856 1174

Liusu is often ruthless and pragmatic. She initially urges Qin Yi to kill an unknown woman merely because her presence in a dangerous area seems suspicious, and she later manipulates Yu Shang by exploiting the Winged Human Race's rigid attitude toward promises. 67 577 However, she also respects Qin Yi's compassion and trusted him in part because of it. 67

Her bond with Qin Yi gradually reveals a protective and affectionate side beneath her usual sarcasm. She repeatedly protects him in moments of extreme danger, heals him after catastrophic injuries, and struggles with embarrassment over allowing her true appearance and feelings to be seen. 572 703 707
