Qin Yi had not entered because he sensed that Li Wuxian was thinking of him.
He had entered because he saw Li Wuxian becoming entangled in the knots of past and present lives again. Afraid that something might be wrong with her soul, he had deliberately come in to interrupt her.
But having entered, his own thoughts had temporarily sunk into those two conflicting notions as well. He was a little distracted and had yet to decide what to say to his disciple, so he looked rather vacant.
To Li Wuxian, there were two kinds of Master. One was imagined by a spring dream, like last night's. The other was the Master from before, who had used a spell to interfere with the dream. That Master possessed a certain degree of reality, reflecting some of Master's own will, but he was not wholly real either. After all, this was only a dream. How could there be anything real within a dream?
It was merely Master's spell interfering, causing the form of Master to appear within the memories of her dream, so that she would not sink too deeply into it and could better keep herself under control.
Qin Yi had deliberately guided her into thinking this way. Once she recognized that he truly existed, the dream would collapse. She had to believe this was still a recollection within her own dream for it to continue existing, and Qin Yi could take the chance to mislead her memories.
The misdirection had produced quite the results. For instance, Li Wuxian now firmly believed that the one who wanted to become the Heavenly Emperor had once crawled beneath Liusu while she rode him, licking wherever she told him to lick. And he had been ugly too, with a crooked mouth and buck teeth.
