Background / History

Li Qingjun was Nanli’s princess and the younger sister of Li Qinglin. From the beginning, she rejected the courtly expectation that women should remain sheltered and perform weakness; she wanted to lead troops, defend the border, roam the jianghu, and punish evil. She fought with a silver spear even before entering cultivation, including against the Spider Demon at a ruined Daoist temple. 11 13

Initially sheltered by her father and brothers, Qingjun was proud, impulsive, and accustomed to acting without considering consequences. Her encounters with Qin Yi challenged that immaturity: after falsely accusing him over the rabbit’s condition, she apologized, then attempted to recruit him as her family’s alchemist. 6 45

During Nanli’s political upheaval, she became Qin Yi’s betrothed and later his wife. Her father’s death, Li Qinglin’s death, and Qin Yi’s absence forced her into responsibility; she eliminated hidden rebel forces, governed in court, and was appointed Regent for the infant king. 55 86 102

After Nanli’s collapse, Qingjun struggled to abandon the future for which her brother had sacrificed himself. Meeting Nanli’s founding ancestor, Li Duanxuan, gave her an opportunity to enter the immortal path.
