The air and the surrounding streams of energy seemed to freeze solid. Xilos even felt his own fire power grow sluggish, while an instinctive tremor rose from the depths of his soul.
Shen Yi's brows snapped together, and he did not hesitate in the slightest.
The shadow rules he had long prepared were driven to their limit. He did not use that power to attack, but instead poured all of it into the most extreme form of coverage and isolation.
In an instant, abyssal darkness erupted outward with him at the center. Those rules devoured the light, forming a rule barrier so dense it had reached the extreme, forcibly wrapping the holy yet terrifying pressure emanating from "Winnie" and sealing it within.
The powers of darkness and sanctity collided and ground violently against each other on an invisible level, giving off a teeth-aching hiss. Even the spatial structure inside the room began to warp slightly.
"Winnie," enveloped by the Shadow Domain, seemed even more puzzled. She tilted her head, her gaze piercing through the layers of shadow and landing on Shen Yi. There was scrutiny in that gaze, curiosity, and a trace of indescribable complexity.
"Shadow rules... and another interesting kindling..."
"Winnie's" intent transmitted again, carrying a kind of lofty curiosity.
"The choice of this vessel is rather interesting. However, for a soul to be so incomplete and still bear this wisp of my echo across space and time... how intriguing."
As her voice fell, that vast, ocean-like, holy and majestic aura of terror receded swiftly like the tide.
The golden light in Winnie's eyes flickered violently several times, then returned to its original color. Yet they were filled with horror, bewilderment, and uncontrollable panic.
The real Winnie had returned.
Realizing that she had finally regained consciousness, Winnie suddenly took
