Background / History

Tang San ruled as the continent’s sole recognized God King following the God War. His residence, Beyond the Heavens, floated above Heaven Dou City as a place of worship, while the Heaven Dou ruler Xue Beng treated him as a superior despite Tang San nominally being the Blue Hao King. Tang San maintained influence through the Tang Sect, Clear Sky Sect, Shrek Academy, popular worship, and the power of faith. 4 64 264

He regarded Qian Renxue as a criminal of the former dynasty and sought to seize her after the Angel Temple disappeared. His effort was interrupted when Su Chen emerged as another God King and protected Qian Renxue within the God King Palace, overwhelming Tang San’s Asura Sword and domain with the Underworld God Sword. 4 11

Tang San’s conflict with Su Chen escalated through repeated raids on Beyond the Heavens, the destruction of his Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, public humiliation, and Su Chen’s interference in his relationship with Xiao Wu. Tang San repeatedly attempted to answer these provocations with force, political retaliation, and increasingly extreme divine techniques. 33 51 72 147

After his former allies began turning against him, Tang San used memory-altering techniques on Ma Hongjun and Dai Mubai, attempted to erase Xiao Wu and Ning Rongrong’s memories, and later used forbidden formations to enhance his allies at the cost of their life force. 115 121 156

Tang San ultimately allied himself with the Demon Race and gained support from the Outer Domain Heavenly Demon in pursuit of greater power. His final attempts to defeat Su Chen included reviving and controlling the corpses of former comrades as puppets. Su Chen defeated him, removed his Asura Divine Position, and sentenced him to eternal torment as the Spirit Hall Empire unified the continent. 279 314

Personality

Tang San is intensely possessive of Xiao Wu and reacts to threats to their relationship with panic, rage, and blood-red Asura manifestations. When Xiao Wu disappeared, his judgment became impaired; later, he attempted to force her and Ning Rongrong back under his control by erasing their memories. 5 126

He places great importance on authority, worship, and public standing. He orders statues built in his image, accepts mass worship at his banquet, and relies on faith crystals to prolong his presence in the mortal world. 4 64 81

His growing desperation makes him increasingly ruthless toward allies and civilians alike. He targets Da Ming, Er Ming, and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect after Xiao Wu’s break with him; drains life force from Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun; and refuses to aid Star Luo civilians during a demon invasion. 147 156 276

Despite his pride, Tang San is capable of yielding when doing so serves his interests. He kneels before Su Chen to save Dai Mubai, sends an avatar rather than personally confronting Su Chen over his parents, and repeatedly seeks external power when outmatched. 81 307 309
