Moriyue had not returned to his room in a long time. The room still belonged to him. He had made some modifications to it before, but all he could remember now was some of the laboratory equipment.
"Rustle, rustle~"
The sound of some creature crawling suddenly came from behind Moriyue. His thoughts raced. Another creature had appeared in his room? Was it one of his test subjects, or something else?
After thinking it over carefully, the test subjects he had left behind were generally rather docile. Any dangerous specimens had long since been ordered to destroy themselves. There should not have been any escaped test subjects in the room.
Though many thoughts ran through his mind, Moriyue swiftly came up with a response.
He held his longsword defensively before him with one hand, his gaze sharp as an eagle's. Pale purple eyeshadow gradually appeared, and a pair of golden pupils silently emerged in the darkness. The darkness around him instantly receded, and after entering Sage Mode, Moriyue's awareness of his surroundings became several times stronger.
"This presence... Ajisai?"
Moriyue sensed that extremely familiar aura. He had assumed it was Hoshikage's doing, but it was actually Ajisai?
"I forgot about Ajisai..."
Ajisai crouched on all fours, her hair falling over her shoulders. Her skin was white as snow, and her eyes gave off a faint red glow. Most conspicuous of all were the dark red Curse Marks on her hands, which were emitting an intense light.
Like a beast spotting its prey, the Curse Marks across her body grew faintly hot. She looked at Moriyue with blazing eyes, like a traveler in the desert who had spotted an oasis, and charged at him without hesitation.
Moriyue instinctively raised his blade to block, but when it was halfway out, he abruptly stopped.
