• Moriyue provoked Neji by kissing Hinata, then escaped with her and his companions after Neji attacked.
• Moriyue confronted Monk Fayi, endured the backlash of his Black Purple Chains, and forced him to promise to teach the forbidden extraction technique.

They returned to find Kaede grieving and Yugito Nii facing accusations over the mission, while Moriyue suspected a new leak within the village.

• Moriyue discovered that black chains and tentacles had emerged from his body, then accepted an S-rank mission with Yugito Nii to investigate a dangerous creature near Takigakure.
• Ajisai ambushed Moriyue and Yugito Nii on their journey, but Moriyue captured her and later let her escape with a dark mark on her hand.
• Moriyue drew some of the Two-Tails’ Chakra from Yugito Nii, enduring a dangerous backlash before the Dog Talisman suppressed the chains and tentacles.
• Moriyue and Yugito Nii entered deserted Takigakure and fell into a strange illusion, which Moriyue broke by confronting the entities inside it.
