Crash...

A window on the fifth floor of Ruili Cosmetics Company suddenly shattered, and Jude and Bruce jumped out.

"You good?" Bruce asked.

"Better than you!"

With a bang, Bruce landed on a car. The little Ford couldn't withstand the impact and was instantly crushed flat, scattering shattered glass everywhere.

Bruce turned to look at Jude, only to see him land lightly on the ground, as though the fall had exerted no force on him at all.

"Told you, better than you!"

Bruce narrowed his eyes. "Nice shoes."

Roar!

Right behind them, Clayface leaped out of the building as well. His entrance was far more dramatic—his nearly one-ton body smashed the surrounding pavement to pieces the moment he landed.

The remaining police officers saw the monster and opened fire without needing orders. A dense barrage of bullets enveloped him in an instant.

Unfortunately, bullets ultimately had little effect on Clayface. At most, they slowed him down.

"Ah... get out of my way!"

Clayface shouted and flipped a car toward the police, while both his arms transformed into mud and flailed wildly.

In an instant, countless clumps of mud shot toward the surroundings like bullets. Quite a few officers were hit, their bodies pierced as they fell.

"If you don't want to die, get out of my way! I only want those two dead!"

"Hey! You only need Batman. There's no need for me, right?"

Jude had barely finished his jab when he suddenly felt a fierce gust from behind. A police car came flying straight at him.

"FUCK! Fire truck, spray him with water!"

"Hm?"

Clayface immediately noticed the fire truck as well. He scooped up two police cars and hurled them over. With a boom, the fire truck was knocked onto its side.

Jude cursed under his breath and looked at Bruce beside him. "Batman, I'll hold him off. You go turn on the water."

"Alright!"

With their roles assigned, Jude stopped dodging and turned to face Clayface head-on. The Freeze Gun fired repeatedly, sending streak after streak of icy rays toward different parts of Clayface's body.

"Is that all you've got? I told you, it's useless against me!"

Clayface howled as he smashed apart the frozen parts of his body. After his mud trembled, it immediately returned to normal.

But Jude stared at him calmly. "It's useless because the frozen area isn't large enough. As long as I freeze all of you before you can recover, you're finished."

Clayface paused at those words, then flew into a rage. "Then I'll kill you first!"

With a flick of his arm, countless clumps of mud flew toward Jude.

Jude hurried behind a police car. A series of sharp clang clang clang clang sounds rang out, and the side of the car facing Clayface was riddled with holes.

"Get out here!"

With a furious roar, Clayface crashed down onto the police car. The already half-ruined vehicle was now fit only for the scrapyard.

A massive yellow-mud axe hacked down violently. Dust erupted from the ground, and a crack was instantly carved into the pavement.

Pfft pfft pfft...

The Freeze Gun kept firing. In the blink of an eye, half of Clayface's body had been frozen.

No matter how tough the monster acted, he was panicking inside. He hurried to deal with the frozen parts of his body first, but by then Jude had already escaped more than ten meters away, leaving Clayface no choice but to continue attacking.

The two chased and evaded each other, repeating their previous moves. Before long, the scene had become a complete mess. The police had retreated far away, afraid of getting caught in the crossfire.

And with the two of them tangled together, the police didn't even dare fire their guns. Clayface wasn't afraid of bullets, but Jude was!

Pfft pfft pfft!

Three more shots temporarily held Clayface back, but when Jude tried to keep firing, the Freeze Gun had already run out of energy.

"FUCK! Why did it have to happen now?"

Clayface, who had been watching him closely, noticed as well and burst into laughter. "Your energy's depleted, isn't it? Let's see what else you can do now."

Jude smiled too. "I've got plenty of options. How about a high-pressure water hose?"

Clayface was shocked and hurriedly looked toward the fire truck. The fire truck that had been lying on its side had already been pushed upright by everyone working together, and Batman stood there holding a high-pressure water hose aimed at him.

"No!"

As the torrent washed over him, Clayface's once-indestructible body began dissolving bit by bit. Everything had its natural counter, after all.

Bruce only stopped once the yellow muddy water had been completely washed into the sewers.

"Whew... he should finally behave himself now."

"Not bad. He should stay quiet for a while. Reassembling that puddle of mud will take time."

With Ruili Cosmetics Company's trouble resolved, Bruce contacted the Batcave.

"Alfred, things are settled here. What about the other two locations?"

"The situation is fairly good, sir. The bank crisis has been resolved, and Two-Face was captured at the scene. However, Mad Hatter escaped. He hypnotized a large number of civilians to cover his retreat, so catching him is indeed difficult."

"There's a bit of trouble at the Green Tree Hotel. Scarecrow's fear toxin is formidable. Batgirl has only just overcome it, and the battle is still underway."

"Do we need to go help?"

"I don't think so. The young people can handle it."

"Good. Let me know immediately if anything comes up."

Jude walked over whistling and poked Batman's damaged armor, teasing him. "You clearly have better gear. Why are you wearing this?"

"The protection is poor. Other than concealing your identity, I can't see any use for it. It's not even as good as my vest."

Bruce glanced at him and chose to ignore him.

"Hey, what kind of attitude is that? I just helped out a lot. Does Batman have to be so aloof?"

"If you're willing to ask me, I can upgrade your armor for free. I guarantee it'll be lightweight and durable, good for both combat and casual wear."

Bruce continued to ignore him and walked straight toward the Batmobile.

But just as he opened the car door, several police officers hurried over.

"Wait, Batman. There's a new development."

Bruce frowned. They really couldn't get even a moment of peace.

"What is it?"

"Gordon... Commissioner Gordon has been kidnapped."

"What? Wasn't he just here?"

"Yes, that's right. But while Clayface was fighting this gentleman, the scene was too chaotic and no one noticed. By the time we realized it, the Commissioner had already disappeared."

Jude stepped closer as well and asked, "Wait, officers, how are you sure it was a kidnapping?"

"Because the kidnapper left a note."

As he spoke, one officer handed the note to Bruce. Jude leaned closer and looked down at it.

There was a sentence written on the note: What is as high as an elephant's eye? And it was signed with a question mark.

Bruce clenched the note in his fist and said in a low voice, "Riddler!"

Riddler, get out of Gotham!
