Shrek lost the final match to Lu Leng, whose revealed power and Spirit Hall's actions left the team battered and divided. After the tournament, Lu Leng traveled with Spirit Hall companions into Death Canyon, where they faced strange trials and a mysterious flame creature.

Inside, Ye Lingling received Top-tier Eight Trials, while Hu Liena received no trial, and Lu Leng was given only three days to stay.

• Yan and the others refined their Fire Ganoderma, while Lu Leng stayed behind to train as Xie Yue, Hu Liena, and the others left Flame Valley.
• Lu Leng’s group crossed Azure Water Connecting Heaven and the freezing mountain pass, surviving the Weak Water River, a snowstorm, and the sisters who guarded the route.
• Lu Leng endured the black road’s darkness trial, mastered Darkness Element, defeated the regenerating soul beasts, and rescued his companions from its erosion.

• Sia revealed the Elf Race’s trials and the Goddess of Nature’s decree, while Lu Leng learned that Ye Lingling might have been intended to receive the Nine Trials.
• Lu Leng secured Spirit Hall’s support, gathered a force, and joined Qian Daoliu in confronting the Thunder Dragon and Yu Ruyi after the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan broke the forest’s barrier.
• Lu Leng’s group and the seven Elemental Spirits fought Yu Ruyi while Qian Daoliu battled the Thunder Dragon, and the Arrow of Spirits critically wounded Yu Ruyi.
