Background / History

Wendilf was one of the Noldo maidens freed by Li Ang after he won control of the slave trader Ramon’s carriages. She introduced herself by promising to repay Li Ang for saving her life. Her striking purple eyes, which resemble a starry sky, immediately concerned Li Ang because their rarity made her conspicuous and potentially endangered her safety. 185

Although of noble blood, Wendy was regarded among the Noldo as an ungraduated ranger girl rather than an adult fit for important office. Li Ang made her his personal guard and liaison officer to the Noldo units under his banner, a position she valued greatly despite its messenger duties. 201 213

Her early experience in large-scale warfare came during the campaign around Eagle Claw Fortress. Under Li Ang’s instruction, she learned that archery could be used not merely to kill enemies, but to control a battlefield by preventing retreat and compelling surrender. 201 203

Felgornsal later proposed an engagement between Wendy and Li Ang to stabilize the human–Noldo alliance. Both Wendy and Li Ang objected, in part because she was still considered underage; Li Ang refused to treat her as a political tool. 219

When Li Ang was critically wounded at Seven Forks Fortress, Wendy used her own blood to draw Noldo vitality runes across his chest.
