Background / History

Tiga’s combat body originally rests as a stone statue within a hidden pyramid in the Land of Tiga. When Golza and Melba threaten humanity, Daigo receives the Spark Lens from Fang Zheng and merges with the statue. Recalling his identity and resolve to protect humanity, he awakens Tiga from an ocean of light and enters the battle. 330 332

Tiga initially divides his strength between fighting the monsters and maintaining a barrier against their devastating aftershocks. When Shinjo and Horii become new Giants of Light and contain the spreading damage, Tiga is able to fight without restraining his output. 332 333 334

After the battle, Daigo learns that Tiga’s giant body is not his only possible form: he can materialize in a human-like body and transform back through the Spark Lens. His changed existence grants him an exhaustive command of his memories and learned skills, as well as a perception and computational capacity beyond ordinary humans. 335

As humanity develops the Land of Light Project, Tiga becomes its only fully developed Giant of Light. He supports TPC research, stabilizes dangerous subspaces, helps create replacement bodies for sacrificed personnel, and serves as a diplomatic representative because of the warmth of his light. 337 339 340

Tiga’s role later expands beyond Earth. He confronts evolving electromagnetic life, malicious cultural lifeforms, and the Mechanical Islands’ Great Filter. His experiences lead him to uphold human morality not as a universal cosmic law, but as a path humanity can consciously choose and defend. 343 346 352 364

Across repeated destruction and reincarnation, the accumulated will of beings who choose light and protection reaches a qualitative change. Tiga ultimately ceases to be solely an individual protector, becoming a collective force that guides life in a new Age of Light. 386 387

Appearance

Tiga is a colossal humanoid Giant of Light whose giant body functions as a vessel for a light quantum lifeform. His eyes glow warmly, and his presence is repeatedly associated with golden, gentle, or milky-white radiance. 332 344 364

  • Can assume a human-like form after awakening as a Giant of Light. 335
  • His true giant form can grow to a scale comparable to the Moon. 365
  • In combat, he can shed his human disguise and radiate golden lightning-like light. 352
  • His light is described as gentler and stronger than that of the other Giant of Light statues and temporary Light Embryo transformations. 340

Personality

Tiga is defined by an unwavering desire to protect humanity. Even while overwhelmed by Golza and Melba, he chooses to endure a potentially fatal combined attack rather than let it strike Earth. 333

Daigo’s human compassion remains central to Tiga’s actions. He heals the wounded after his awakening, reconstructs bodies for fallen TPC personnel, and advocates peaceful communication with non-human life. 332 337 340

His compassion is not passive. After learning that the R’lyehians are malicious cultural parasites, Tiga displays absolute killing intent and commits to pursuing such lifeforms to the ends of the universe. 350 352

Tiga eventually articulates a deliberate moral stance: morality may not matter to indifferent cosmic civilizations, but it matters to humanity because humanity’s experiences and values give it meaning. 364

“Morality is certainly an artificial construct, but why can't I fight for it?” 365

Abilities & Skills

Light-Body Transformation

Tiga can transform between a human-like form and the body of a Giant of Light through the Spark Lens.

  • His Giant of Light form is capable of tearing apart planets. 335
  • The giant body is a material vessel through which his light quantum lifeform interferes with reality. 344
  • He can return to giant form through intent, drawing upon the vast light-energy sea within his body. 335

Light Manipulation and Restoration

Tiga controls light energy for healing, defense, construction, and large-scale environmental intervention.

  • Extinguished fires and healed the injured across the Land of Tiga immediately after awakening. 332
  • Created replacement bodies for thousands of TPC personnel whose souls had become Light Embryos. 337
  • Nourishes and strengthens Light Embryos through his unusually gentle light. 340
  • Sent a global Rain of Light after defeating an Abulon Mutant. 370

Barriers and Environmental Protection

Tiga can deploy immense protective fields while fighting.

  • Raised a barrier around the Land of Tiga to protect humanity from Golza and Melba’s battle aftershocks. 332
  • Was forced to limit his combat output while maintaining the barrier. 332 334
  • Worked with Shinjo and Horii to establish a globe-spanning defensive barrier through the mantle and upper atmosphere. 334

Superhuman Cognition and Analysis

Becoming Tiga fundamentally alters Daigo’s perception and processing ability.

  • Can perceive satellites in distant space, microscopic organisms in soil, spatial distortions, and subterranean layers. 332
  • Processes Giant of Light combat as an immense real-time calculation of energy trajectories, frequencies, and defenses. 333
  • Retains and accesses his memories, emotions, knowledge, and learned skills with near-perfect clarity. 335
  • Completely analyzed the Black Hole Titan after traversing a nested black-hole labyrinth. 363

Spacetime and Energy Manipulation

Tiga possesses abilities associated with advanced physical phenomena.

  • Can manipulate spacetime, transmit energy, and perform mass-energy conversion. 335
  • Stabilized a collapsing subspace for TPC’s Subspace Battleship Plan. 339
  • Flew around Earth to stabilize its orbit and lock onto subspaces linked to its gravitational field. 348
  • Can create vast astronomical projections, including a representation of the observable universe. 365

Relativistic and Quantum Combat

Tiga can convert light energy into extreme-speed physical attacks and quantum-state attacks.

  • Delivered strikes at 10% of light speed while drawing energy from the surrounding Ocean of Light. 344
  • Pushed his fist to 99.9% of light speed, generating spacetime disparities capable of tearing conventional matter apart at the atomic scale. 345
  • Developed the Quantum Tunneling Blast Fist, an attack that relies on an unstable superposition state and can be disrupted by observation. 345
  • Entered a superposition state in which he was “nowhere and everywhere,” manifesting countless simultaneous attacks against the Electromagnetic Deity. 346

Perpetual Motion Energy

Fang Zheng grants Tiga access to an inexhaustible energy source.

  • Tiga can output energy continuously as long as even a trace of energy remains. 344
  • He initially refrains from using this effect to exponentially increase his own mass and light output, choosing to preserve his personality. 344

Telepathy

Tiga communicates directly through mental waves.

  • Coordinated with Shinjo and Horii after the battle against Golba. 334
  • Receives fragmented impressions and visions linked to different possible histories and versions of Tiga. 349
  • Speaks directly to Shinjo across astronomical distances. 364
