Background / History

A later account depicts Taiyin as a boy from a small world used as a breeding farm and alchemical furnace. Before he had adopted the name “Taiyin,” Fang Zheng gave him the Taiyin Moon Blade; when an outside being tried to seize it, the saber annihilated the attacker along with its Primordial Spirit. 265 266

Taiyin was born during the Primordial Era, when humanity was treated as livestock by stronger races. He was once a pill slave, fed medicinal ingredients while awaiting refinement. After escaping, he survived by stealing techniques from other races, eventually developing secret arts based on curses, karma, moon phases, and divination. 26 46

He ultimately proved his Dao, became the Taiyin Human Emperor, and fought to free humanity from its former plight. To safeguard humanity after his death, he forged the defensive Human Emperor Seal in addition to the killing-focused Taiyin Moon Blade. 26

During his third life, Taiyin attempted to enter the Sea of Realms through the shattered Immortal Ascension Road. He was nearly killed by its waves and later suffered catastrophic Dao injuries from a bizarre existence, leaving his body and Primordial Spirit shattered and much of his memory lost. 20

Appearance

Taiyin first manifests as an ethereal, white-haired phantom recovering beside the Taiyin Moon Blade. Following his rebirth, he returns as a tall and majestic man with black hair and a saber at his waist. 18 21

Personality

Taiyin is deeply protective of humanity and views the preservation of sentient life as his responsibility. He respects later generations who endured the Dark Turmoil and seeks to restore worthy Great Emperors so they can help protect the universe. 26 27 45

He is courteous and grateful toward Fang Zheng, whose resources made his resurrection possible. Taiyin invites him to his homeland, learns his language to communicate with him, and repeatedly asks for his cooperation rather than treating him solely as a resource. 20 22 24 54

In combat and against those who prey upon sentient beings, Taiyin is ruthless. He openly threatens Supremes who devour living beings and is willing to use overwhelming force to prevent future Dark Turmoil. 49 59 60

After his near-death collapse and reconstruction, Taiyin becomes more introspective. He recognizes that his earlier greed, bloodlust, and rage may have been amplified by external manipulation rather than arising entirely from his own will. 63 64

Identity & Dark Matter

During the battle with five Supreme Beings, a being wearing Taiyin’s face displayed extreme bloodlust, devoured the defeated Supremes, and planned to use Fang Zheng’s resources to conquer other worlds. 62

Fang Zheng later states that this “Taiyin” is not the original Human Emperor, but a Dark Primordial Spirit formed by black energy after the original Taiyin’s death. Taiyin initially rejects this claim, insisting that even destructive choices would be his own. 63

After drinking milk that removes status effects and reconstructing himself from a near-death state, Taiyin gains unusual clarity. He concludes that he may have been a puppet influenced by an entity that fostered his negative emotions, though the full nature of his identity remains unresolved. 63 64

Taiyin Rebirth Method

Taiyin’s supreme forbidden art uses death and rebirth as a cycle of regeneration. It was created from the “Zhe” Character Secret and the Taiyin Body Refinement Method, and was not recorded in the True Scripture of Taiyin. 20
