"Your Majesty, once the situation on the grasslands stabilizes, the government plans to transfer some of the servant army by sea and send them to the Central Continent battlefield."
Duke Beckett spoke as an idea struck him.
The Kingdom government cared about appearances. Since it had accepted the Beastfolk's surrender, it could not slaughter its new underlings for no reason.
Yet the hatred between both sides ran too deep. Leaving behind such a large number of Beastfolk was a hidden danger. Things would be fine while the Kingdom remained strong, but once it declined, these people would inevitably rebel.
The only remaining option was to let them die on the battlefield. The Kingdom government only needed to spend some money and provisions to eliminate this threat.
To avoid trouble, Chancellor Beckett had even mapped out the marching route, fearing that the Kingdom's nobles might get carried away and wipe out the servant army midway.
Such things had remained impossible to stamp out at the front. Some people who hated Beastfolk to the extreme would strike at the servant army in secret whenever they had the chance.
By now, more than a hundred noble officers had been ordered into retirement for massacring prisoners on a large scale.
Even military law could not restrain them. Once they returned to their own territories, they would only act more ruthlessly.
Catching them was useless too. The Noble Council would never hand down severe punishment to a noble for slaughtering Beastfolk. At most, they would be fined three cups of wine, which was not intimidating in the slightest.
"Time is of the essence. The government will arrange ships immediately and first transfer one million servant soldiers from the grasslands to join the war in the Central Continent.
