• Yang Ao agreed to take Zhao Hong and Su Lele through the iron gate, while Li Jie begged to go with him and Ma Sanxiong watched Zhao Hong with anger.
• Su Lele visited Shen Jin for a massage, then answered the walkie-talkie when her boyfriend Liu Dalao reported two M-Type Zombies jumping near the west wall.
• Shen Jin and Yang Ao went to the wall and tried to shoot the zombies with a bow, but Yang Ao missed every shot.

That night, Shen Jin dismantled equipment from Fu Wei’s old laboratory and gathered materials, preparing to build the new lab.

• Yang Ao told Shen Jin that Fu Wei wanted to speak with him, and Shen Jin found Fu Wei working in the greenhouse.
• Fu Wei showed Shen Jin and Yang Ao his “Thumb Laboratory” plan and explained that it could mass-produce Gene Optimization Serum 1.0 if they obtained the needed prescription drugs and equipment.

After ordering the survivors to collect the arrows and burn the bodies, Shen Jin caught Zhao Mingkai daydreaming and sent him to help.

• Shen Jin and Yang Ao shot at the zombies below, then Shen Jin brought ten bows and arrows and recruited the settlement’s young men to join them.
• Shang Qian threatened Xiao Ming with losing his meal if he refused to shoot, and Xiao Ming promptly hit an L-Type Zombie in the eye.
• The archers rained arrows on the ordinary zombies until only two L-Type Zombies remained, and Yang Ao killed both with his Energy-Enhanced Iron Sword.

After Shen Jin’s group helped ten settlers kill and burn a horde of zombies, the settlers celebrated their first victory while Shen Jin studied the system’s new daily quests and industrial machines. He resolved to pursue the quests for their rewards and considered the new tools needed to advance toward a Quantum Suit.

• The ten settlers stabbed the fallen zombies in the head, piled up their bodies, and Zhao Mingkai burned them with gasoline.
• Yang Ao gave Shen Jin the two blood crystals from the Evolved Zombies, then called the settlers inside and closed the gate.

Shen Jin then handed out compressed biscuits to the settlement in hopes of earning sincere thanks, but Old Wang took his biscuit without thanking him.

• Fu Wei placed a blood crystal in the Extractor and found that it contained energy factors, mixed crystals, and unknown microorganisms.
• Fu Wei explained that the Extractor destroyed other substances when extracting one, and Shen Jin promised him more blood crystals for experiments.
• Shen Jin spotted Su Lele showing off her compressed biscuits and devised a plan to collect thank-yous by giving biscuits to everyone.

He completed the “Win the People's Hearts” quest, received rewards, and began a new daily-quests challenge, ending by ordering Yang Ao to collect the biscuits again.

Zhao Hong brought Ma Sanxiong meat and liquor after Yang Ao protected her dignity and set boundaries for their relationship. The next day, Shen Jin and Yang Ao sensed an approaching threat and discovered a huge dust-covered zombie horde moving toward the settlement, possibly led by a zombie capable of communicating with others.

• Zhao Hong asked Yang Ao for meat and liquor to repay Ma Sanxiong, but Yang Ao gave her the food and liquor without accepting her offer and told her to limit contact with Ma Sanxiong to delivering meals.
• Ma Sanxiong ate the salted duck and drank the Erguotou, then got drunk while remembering his former life with Zhao Hong and their child.
• Shen Jin and Yang Ao felt tremors approaching, woke Shang Qian and Li Moxiao, and went to investigate the disturbance to the west.
• Shen Jin used binoculars to spot a strange M-Type Zombie leaping between buildings ahead of a massive cloud of dust.
• Shen Jin warned the others that a huge zombie horde was approaching and suggested that a super zombie capable of communicating might be leading it.

Shen Jin prepared his settlement for the approaching zombie horde while Fu Wei developed a possible serum to awaken superhuman abilities. Hu Shou announced that the capital had fallen, modern weapons no longer worked, and China was beginning nationwide resistance as two enormous zombies prepared to attack Shen Jin’s wall.

• Shen Jin ordered Yang Ao to evacuate the settlement underground and Shang Qian to protect Fu Wei and his research, while Li Moxiao brought Shen Jin food and a radio.
• Fu Wei told Shang Qian that he was developing an Energy Activation Serum from energy-bearing microorganisms and an Energy Crystal Core, but it would require testing.
• Hu Shou announced that the rescue plan had failed, the capital had fallen, modern weapons were useless, and the authorities had relocated to Tibet to pursue the secret Wallfacer Project.
• Hu Shou explained that vaccines could make infected people stronger zombies and that Energy Crystal Cores were dangerous, then called for citizens to produce cold weapons, secure supplies, and join the National Anti-Zombie Plan.
• The zombie horde approached Shen Jin’s wall, and the big-headed zombie sent two enormous, round-bellied zombies forward to attack it.

After the broadcast revealed that humanity would have to fight the zombies without relying on government rescue, Shen Jin began planning for a safer settlement. A horde attacked with black, devouring particles, and while the group took cover, Yang Ao found Fu Wei still working in the laboratory as the zombies drew near.

• Shen Jin and Shang Qian accepted that people would have to fight the zombies themselves, and Shen Jin decided their current location was too dangerous for a permanent settlement.
• Shen Jin led everyone underground to wait out the approaching horde, then spotted enormous zombies and two potbellied zombies preparing to launch black particles.
• Shen Jin shielded himself, Li Moxiao, Yang Ao, and Shang Qian with materialized wooden planks as black particles covered the courtyard.
• Ma Sanxiong was hit by the particles but escaped after taking off his contaminated jacket, while the black creatures devoured the courtyard's vegetation.
• Shen Jin carried Li Moxiao through the black creatures as Yang Ao reached the laboratory and urged Fu Wei to leave before the zombies broke in.

Shen Jin and the others were trapped outside the villa by rapidly growing black insects that prevented him from using his Blockify Ability and soon devoured the building. With zombies closing in beyond the perimeter wall, Shen Jin led the group toward a backup plan.

• Fu Wei abandoned his experiment and followed Yang Ao as the group fled toward the villa.
• Shen Jin discovered that black insects covered the villa and stopped him from digging an underground passage with his Blockify Ability.
• Yang Ao led the group toward the villa, but the insects rapidly gnawed through the building and buried its underground tunnel beneath the rubble.
• Ma Sanxiong pulled a biting insect from his back while the group stomped insects away and heard the zombies approaching the perimeter wall.
• Shen Jin led everyone toward the southern perimeter wall to use his backup plan.

Shen Jin led the survivors away from the black worms and zombie horde toward his backup base at the Seaside Villa. As they drove, they discovered a black worm beneath Ma Sanxiong’s skin, and a Super M-Type Zombie caught up with the convoy.

• Shen Jin and Yang Ao broke through the southern wall, retrieved a Hummer and two pickup trucks from a sealed parking garage, and led the survivors onto Xinhua Road.
• Shen Jin chose the route to the Seaside Villa because the ruined villa had made his underground network unsafe, and he had stocked the villa as a backup shelter.
• The survivors noticed that Ma Sanxiong was scratching his back and saw something wriggling beneath the skin on his neck; they let him stay in the truck after Zhao Hong pleaded for him.
• Shen Jin, Shang Qian, Li Moxiao, Yang Ao, and the others continued toward the Seaside Villa as Ma Sanxiong’s itching worsened.
• Yang Ao spotted a green-furred, hunched zombie leaping across buildings behind the vehicles, and Shen Jin identified it as a Super M-Type Zombie.

Sun Can’s skeleton army fought zombies in the city while Shen Jin and Yang Ao tried to stop a super M-Type Zombie pursuing their convoy. After crashing into Shen Jin’s tungsten steel barrier, the wounded zombie escaped their sword attack and began eating its shattered hands.

• Sun Can’s skeletons killed an L-Type Zombie, and he raised its bones into a towering skeleton soldier.
• Sun Can received an emergency quest and looked toward the coast, recognizing his target.
• Shen Jin stopped the Hummer and built a platform, while Yang Ao joined him to face the pursuing super M-Type Zombie.
• Shen Jin used a tungsten steel wall to make the super M-Type Zombie crash and injure its hands, then gave Yang Ao an energy-enhanced Diamond Sword.
• Shen Jin and Yang Ao rushed the stunned zombie, but it leaped away, bit off and ate its shattered hands, and fixed its eyes on them.

Shen Jin and Yang Ao struggled against the Super M-Type Zombie as the others fled, while Ma Sanxiong succumbed to the Black Insects. Zhao Hong chose to remain with her dying husband and was devoured alongside him as the pickup drove away.

• The Super M-Type Zombie kicked Yang Ao aside and attacked Shen Jin, who used stone walls to defend himself and tried to lure it into striking.
• The zombie broke through toward Yang Ao, forcing Shen Jin to take out the last-resort item he had saved for Lu Qiang.
• As the fleeing survivors worried about Shen Jin and Yang Ao, Ma Sanxiong tearfully apologized to Zhao Hong and admitted he had failed to protect her.
• Ma Sanxiong began coughing up blood as Black Insects chewed through his body, and Zhao Hong refused to leave him when the others tried to remove him from the truck.
• Zhao Hong carried Ma Sanxiong to the roadside, stayed with him as he died, and recounted how he had once protected her.
• Black Insects emerged from Ma Sanxiong and engulfed Zhao Hong as the others drove away.

Shen Jin and his group fled a zombie horde after killing a Super M-Type Zombie, then abandoned their vehicles when another horde blocked the road. As they hid near the train station, the street’s zombies suddenly turned toward them.

• Shen Jin and Yang Ao escaped in Shang Qian’s Hummer after killing the Super M-Type Zombie, and Shen Jin revealed that his MK18 rifle had delivered the fatal shots.
• Shen Jin’s group encountered two pickup trucks blocking the road; Old Wang and Qi Tong reported that another huge zombie horde had sealed off the route ahead.
• Shen Jin led everyone out of the underground passage and into a courtyard near the train-station hotels, abandoning their vehicles because the roads were impassable.
• Shen Jin spotted zombie hordes approaching from both ends of Xinhua Road and began warning the group that their target was unclear.

Shen Jin and his companions fought their way out of a zombie horde, but a super M-Type Zombie cornered them at the outskirts. As they struggled to stop it, a Giant Zombie charged toward them, leaving the battle on the brink of disaster.

• Shen Jin led the group through the zombies toward his tunnel exit, while Yang Ao cleared a path and an L-Type Zombie killed the middle-aged man they had rescued.
• The Big-Head Zombie sent one super M-Type Zombie after Shen Jin and another toward a fire at the rear of the horde, while the Giant Zombie followed the one pursuing Shen Jin.
• Shen Jin reached the outskirts with the survivors, where seven people were missing, and gave Li Moxiao an Energy-Enhanced Iron Sword before ordering the others to flee or hide.
• Liu Dalao and Su Lele hid in a manhole, while Shen Jin sealed Shang Qian and Fu Wei inside an alloy shelter and prepared to fight alongside Yang Ao and Li Moxiao.
• The super M-Type Zombie resisted their attacks and broke through Shen Jin's blocks, then a five-meter-tall Giant Zombie charged toward them.

Shen Jin, Yang Ao, and Li Moxiao fought two super evolved zombies, killing the Super M-Type Zombie but struggling against the giant zombie. As their defenses failed, Shang Qian seized Fu Wei’s unfinished potion and asked if she could drink it.

• Yang Ao and Li Moxiao drew the two zombies away from the shelter while Shen Jin prepared to shoot.
• Yang Ao cut the Super M-Type Zombie’s belly, and Shen Jin’s gunfire let Yang Ao behead it.
• Li Moxiao lured the giant zombie away but was struck by a rock, so Shen Jin attacked it with his rifle and grenade launcher.
