He had no idea when or how Snape had discovered him and circled around behind him.

Skofot gave a slight nod, his posture impeccable and his voice steady. "Good afternoon, Professor Snape. I was merely passing by and was just about to return to the common room."
Snape's lips twisted into a mocking curve. "Passing by? Outside the dungeon entrance?"
He stepped closer, his tall figure casting a heavy shadow that almost completely engulfed Skofot.
"Put away that hypocritical act, Leoqi. I don't care what you're plotting, or who's backing you... don't let me catch you with anything."
His voice was low, carrying an undisguised threat.
Skofot raised his head and met his gaze. There was no fear in his black eyes; instead, they held a trace of almost innocent curiosity. "Anything? Professor, I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean. I have always... followed the school rules."
Snape let out a short, icy snort and said no more.
He merely gave Skofot one final inspection with that freezing stare.
Then he abruptly turned away.
His black robes swept through a sharp arc as he disappeared into the dark corridor leading to his office.
Skofot remained where he was, watching the empty corridor. The smile on his face slowly faded, leaving only deep calm.
