Background / History

Cai'er was identified by the Assassin Temple at age three as possessing Innate Inner Spiritual Power above 90. She was raised as the Reincarnation Saintess, intended to protect humanity and ultimately eradicate the Demon God Emperor. Her parents and elders sent her to the temple, where she was treated as a cultivation tool and forced through trials that stripped away her six senses one by one. 1 27

Her escape from the Assassin Temple was tacitly permitted so that she could gain combat experience and briefly live outside its confines. During this period, she encountered Lin Feng—the first human she had met in the outside world—and protected him from Demon Wolves despite her distrust of others. 1 3

Cai'er later chose to resume the Reincarnation Saintess Trial because she wanted to remain independent and keep pace with Lin Feng rather than merely be protected by him. She fused with the Reincarnation Spiritual Furnace and Reincarnation Sword, completing trials involving smell, hearing, and taste; she subsequently lost her sense of feeling, touch, and sight in turn. 10 25

After two years of seclusion, she emerged as a Fifth Stage Reincarnation Saintess. The process left her markedly cold and detached, and she openly declared that she hated the Assassin Temple. 57
