Background / History
Ah Rou mastered human transformation before reaching 200,000 years of cultivation and had entered human society several times, giving her a far more realistic understanding of humans than most Soul Beasts. She initially intended to search the depths of the Great Star Dou Forest for her former partner, but accompanied Xiao Wu into the human world instead; she considered an inexperienced 100,000-year Soul Beast wandering among humans alone to be suicidal. 172 173
Near Nuoding Academy, Ah Rou encountered Tang Hao while protecting Xiao Wu. She ordered her daughter to flee and fought Tang Hao herself, but Ye Wen captured Xiao Wu and intervened in the conflict. Although Ah Rou initially assumed Ye Wen sought her Soul Ring, Ye Wen forced Tang Hao to withdraw and offered the mother and daughter sanctuary, citing his own Soul Beast wife, Ah Yin. 172 174
Ah Rou and Xiao Wu subsequently entered Ye Wen's circle and adapted to its cultivation environment. By the time Ye Tianxin's group entered the Great Star Dou Forest for their Fifth Soul Rings, Ah Rou had become a trusted guide and regarded herself as part of Heavenly Path Academy. 174 216 217
During that expedition, Ah Rou directed Ye Tianxin to a Mountain-Breaking Rhino and recommended a Ghost Cry Mantis for Ye Tianchen's Fifth Soul Ring. She later sensed Er Ming approaching from afar and reunited with him in the forest. 216 218
Afterward, Ah Rou and Er Ming chose to return to the human world to cultivate. On their journey back, Ah Rou helped care for an unidentified lost girl discovered beside Ye Tianxin, insisting that the child could not be left alone in the forest. 219
Appearance
In human form, Ah Rou is a striking woman whose elegance contrasts with Xiao Wu's youthful liveliness. Her spiritual power lets her remain inconspicuous even in public. 172
- Wears a white feathered dress. 172
- Has soft, fluffy pink hair. 172
- Carries the bearing and charm of a noblewoman. 172
- Can make nearby people subconsciously ignore her through precise spiritual-power control. 172
Personality
Ah Rou is intensely maternal and pragmatic. When Tang Hao threatened Xiao Wu, she immediately chose to hold him off rather than preserve her own safety; when Ye Wen captured her daughter, however, she recognized that fighting two Titled Douluo would only endanger Xiao Wu further. 172 174
Her long experience in both the forest and human society makes her observant and adaptable. She is suspicious of human Soul Masters, understands the limits of escape against spatial abilities, and accepts assistance when it is the safest option for her daughter. 173 174
Despite her caution, Ah Rou is compassionate. She shows concern for Er Ming's simple-mindedness, refuses to abandon a vulnerable child found in the forest, and provides calm guidance to Ye Wen's younger generation during dangerous Soul Ring hunts. 218 219
