Background

Suguru Geto discovered at age eight that he could see and capture Cursed Spirits. After learning that his rare Cursed Spirit Manipulation could permanently remove curses from the world rather than merely exorcise them temporarily, he entered the jujutsu world with ideals of protecting humanity. He joined Jujutsu High, where Masamichi Yaga became his teacher and Satoru Gojo and Shoko Ieiri became his closest classmates 229.

During the Star Plasma Vessel escort mission, Geto and Gojo failed to protect Riko Amanai. The assassin deliberately spared Geto because his death could cause his Cursed Spirits to go berserk, leaving Geto humiliated as Riko's body was taken away 230. Riko's death, followed by Haihara Kuma's death, led Geto to question whether protecting non-sorcerers was worthwhile 230.

Tsumiki Kuonji had previously introduced Geto to the idea of eliminating Cursed Spirits at their source. While Kuonji sought to remove Cursed Power itself, Geto chose the extreme alternative: eliminating ordinary humans to create a world inhabited only by Jujutsu Sorcerers 125. He defected, became a Curse User, and absorbed the Star Religious Cult, using its religious façade to collect funds, intelligence, recruits, and Cursed Spirits 181.

Personality

Geto is outwardly courteous, calm, and respectful even toward opponents and former teachers. He addresses Akesato as a junior, remains composed during tense meetings, and maintains respect for Masamichi Yaga despite their fractured teacher-student relationship 114 128.

His worldview is rigidly divided: ordinary humans are expendable “monkeys,” while Jujutsu Sorcerers are potential allies and the foundation of his desired new world. He initially attempts to recruit gifted sorcerers such as Yuta Okkotsu rather than kill them 219. His conviction is nevertheless tempered by guilt, grief, and unresolved doubt over Riko Amanai and the people lost during his life as a sorcerer 230 231.

Geto values talent and treats his core followers as family. He personally recruited and trained many members, including Mimiko and Nanako, and continued to worry about their escape even while facing death 181 400.

Encounter in Kyoto

Geto appears during the exchange event after locating Akesato through high-level connections within the Jujutsu Alliance. Intrigued by Akesato's Pokémon and Spirit Manipulation, he attempts to determine whether Cursed Spirit Manipulation can control Swablu, but fails 114. He later debates his plan to eradicate ordinary humans with Akesato, whose practical objections visibly weaken Geto's confidence 116.

Battle Against Akesato

Geto tests Akesato with increasingly large groups of Cursed Spirits, eventually deploying Grade 1 and Special Grade spirits. He demonstrates high-level group command, domain-based pressure through his summons, and close-combat mastery with Yūun 117 118 123. The battle is interrupted when a third party injures Mai and Swablu, forcing Geto and Akesato into a temporary, tense cooperation 124.

Leadership of the Star Religious Cult

As the cult's leader, Geto expands its operations, cultivates talented Curse Users, uses informants within the Jujutsu world, and maintains a network capable of gathering funds and Cursed Spirits 181. He treats his core members as family while planning for a conflict against the Jujutsu Alliance 181 400.

Night Parade of a Hundred Demons

Geto declares war on Jujutsu High and launches the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, dispatching Cursed Spirits to Tokyo and Kyoto to divert the Alliance while he targets Yuta Okkotsu, Rika Orimoto, and Akesato's Pokémon 201 219. He recruits Rime as additional Special Grade support and deploys multiple Special Grade Cursed Spirits against Yuta 219 223.

After Gardevoir's Z-Move destroys his Special Grade Cursed Spirit, Geto uses Whirlwind as an all-or-nothing attempt to reverse the battle 226 227. Darkrai consumes the vortex's negative energy, while Akesato's forces overwhelm Geto's remaining Cursed Spirits. Unable to heal himself with Reverse Cursed Technique, Geto is defeated through accumulated injuries and exhaustion 229.

Death and Posthumous Legacy

Mortally wounded, Geto leaves the battlefield and is met by Gojo, Shoko, and Yaga. He questions whether he made the wrong choice, shares one final moment with his former classmates, and asks Gojo to protect his comrades and daughters before dying 231.

Kenjaku later takes over Geto's corpse and gains access to Cursed Spirit Manipulation, intending to exploit Geto's memories, resources, and followers 232 401. After Kenjaku's defeat, Geto's body is allowed to disintegrate, finally ending its use as a vessel 394.
