Nature
Aeons are beings at the end of Paths rather than ordinary life-forms born on planets. Their existence is itself power: they embody cosmic concepts so completely that mortal civilizations and fleets are described as insignificant before them 344 423.
A Path is an abstract ideal or concept. When an intelligent life-form’s concept becomes sufficiently powerful and pure, it can draw infinite Imaginary Energy, form a Path, and elevate that life-form into the Aeon governing it 344 423.
Ascension Mechanics
| Phase | Description | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Conceptual foundation | An intelligent life-form develops an ideal or concept powerful and pure enough to resonate with reality. | 344 423 |
| Energy convergence | Infinite Imaginary Energy gathers around the concept. | 344 423 |
| Path formation | The concept collapses and sublimates into a new Path. | 344 423 |
| Aeonhood | The life-form that created the Path becomes its governing Aeon. Ascension is conditional rather than a gradual cultivation process. | 344 423 |
| Cosmic anomaly | A new Aeon’s birth produces universe-scale signs; Qianyi’s ascension released a hymn that spread Order outward. | 344 423 |
Documented Ascensions and Succession
| Aeon Event | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Taiyi’s potential return | 217 | The former Aeon of Order vanished after being devoured and fused by Himeko. An eggshell formed from intertwined Order and Harmony could allow the slumbering god to awaken. |
| Immortal Dragon’s partial revival | 230 | Though not fully revived, the Immortal Dragon Ancestor could threaten or grievously wound another Aeon. |
| Elysia becomes the Aeon of Pure Beauty | 265 | Aphrodite’s Great Rune and a Pure Beauty fragment allowed Elysia to enter the Path; Idrila answered the call and used her body to re-establish Pure Beauty. |
| Qianyi becomes the Aeon of Order | 344 | The Path of Order elected Qianyi after Robin and Sunday, the Order twins, recognized his ideals; the Path had also been widened by the Elden Ring. |
| Qianyi inherits Destruction and Entropy | 372 | After defeating Nanook, Qianyi inherited the concepts of Destruction and Entropy and absorbed Nanook’s Golden Blood. |
Authority and Influence
Paths
An Aeon’s authority reflects its Path. The scope of that authority can extend across the universe, but its manifestation differs between Aeons.
| Aeon | Path | Documented Authority or Trait |
|---|---|---|
| Qianyi | Order | Defines Order as the power to uphold rules through strength; intends to appoint 3,000 Conductors of Order. 345 424 425 |
| Elysia | Pure Beauty | Develops targets toward their personal idea of “Pure Beauty,” effectively granting wishes based on their innermost desires. 463 |
| Fuli | Remembrance | Records decisive events; memories observed and preserved by Fuli become unshakable reality. 460 463 |
| Nanook | Destruction; later Entropy | Created Great Extinguishers with Destruction power and Path-specific advantages against other Aeons. 268 |
| Immortal Dragon Ancestor | Immortality / Permanence | Retained immense combat power before full revival and could corrode the Honorable Sage’s mechanical body with a single attack. 230 |
Conductors and Emissaries
Aeons can establish empowered agents, though their methods and standards vary.
- Elysia named Qianyi her Conductor of Pure Beauty immediately after her ascension. 265
- Nanook is said to create Emissaries by killing a person connected to a target Aeon and remaking them as an Emissary of Destruction. 268
- Starfall was raised by Nanook from the ashes of the Infinite Commander and became one of the Great Extinguishers. 268
- Qianyi planned to create 3,000 Conductors of Order following his ascension. 424 425
Death, Revival, and Replacement
Aeon death is not necessarily final. Taiyi’s potential return and Tayzzyronth’s survival as a fragment demonstrate that even tiny remnants can preserve an Aeon’s possibility of revival 217.
The Immortal Dragon Ancestor was able to act before fully reviving, while the remains of Tayzzyronth were valuable because they could restore part of the Immortal Aeon’s lost power and concepts 230 257.
Killing an Aeon can require extraordinary force. During the prior War of the Gods, multiple Aeons fought Tayzzyronth for several Amber Eras, yet even that did not result in a complete death 433. Conversely, Qianyi’s defeat of Nanook led directly to the inheritance of Nanook’s Destruction and Entropy, indicating that a fallen Path can acquire a new bearer rather than disappear entirely 372 466.
Qianyi’s Aeonhood
Before ascending, Qianyi repeatedly identified himself as human despite Herta’s belief that his abilities, connections, and knowledge already resembled those of an Aeon 268 312.
Qianyi became the new Aeon of Order after defeating Sunday and gaining the recognition of Robin and Sunday, the two figures tied to Order’s succession. The dormant Path selected him instead of restoring Taiyi 344 345.
Despite his ascension, Qianyi retains a human body, warmth, heartbeat, and personal relationships. He can suppress his power to a “safe gear” and remain in the material world without damaging it 344 345 347.
His later assimilation of Nanook’s concepts is considered highly abnormal: Lagurghos notes that Qianyi integrated another Aeon’s authority without rejection, a feat implied to exceed even Harmony’s capacity to combine concepts 466.
