Background / History

Nian came to Londinium after Great Britain’s rapid unification of Ursus, Kazimierz, and Victoria caught her attention. Having lost hope of resolving the impending Sui Beast crisis alone, she sought out the ruler responsible and was initially caught in an ambush at the founding ceremony. 56

She negotiated with Qianyi: in exchange for his assistance against Sui, she would help locate her siblings Shu and Wang. Rather than reveal Shu’s whereabouts, Nian redirected Qianyi toward Wang, exaggerating Wang’s competence in farming, forging, painting, chess, cooking, and strategy. 56 68

Qianyi recognized Nian as part of his community of destiny once she chose to help him, obligating him to protect her alongside the other Sui fragments. 67 During the Sui crisis, Nian reluctantly supported sending the vulnerable Xi away from the coming battle, believing Xi would certainly die if she remained. 106

Following Sui’s defeat, Nian continued working as a forger, upgrading Qianyi’s equipment and eventually accepting the Olympian authority of Fire and Forging. 113 172 179 She later undertook major projects including reforging the Chains of Heaven and crafting a crown intended to stabilize Tiamat’s Earth Mother God authority. 196 202

Nian is a white-haired dragon girl with crimson eyes, red-copper horns, a dark-red dragon tail, and scales on her left thigh. She commonly wears hot pants, leaving her long legs exposed. 103 596

Beneath this mischief, she takes the Sui Beast threat seriously and genuinely fears the loss of her siblings and all evidence that they existed. Xi recognizes Nian as the sibling most concerned with the family’s survival. 69 Her decision to send Xi away was motivated by the belief that Xi was too vulnerable to survive the coming conflict. 106

She is intensely proud of her craftsmanship and easily offended when it is not properly acknowledged. 113 Her other consuming passion is filmmaking, though her work is notorious as “disaster-class” cinema throughout the known universe. 596
