Dinner

"Since we made a full circle so quickly and ended up back where we started, this should only be a small island."

Ra shifted her gaze back to the distant sea as she spoke.

"And it seems to be an uninhabited island. We haven't seen any traces of human activity along the shore," Obe added.

"The animals on the island seem to be hiding from us too. We clearly saw footprints along the way, but not a single living creature. We only saw a few crabs on the beach. That's really strange."

Oshi joined the discussion as well. "By the way, I'm getting a little hungry. What about you, Sister Ra?"

"No, I'm not hungry at all."

"Huh? You've been awake the whole time, and you led us around for so long. You should have used far more energy than we did, so how can you not be hungry?"

When it came to food, Oshi's mind worked especially fast.

"This body is filled with divine power. In theory, I won't feel hunger, nor do I need to eat. You should be able to do the same."

"Then why do I feel hungry?" Oshi asked.

"Isn't that obvious? It's simply because you're greedy~" Obe said irritably.

"How dare you speak to an elder like that? What a disrespectful little brat." Oshi immediately picked up the weapon of seniority.

"You!"

"The divine power within me flows like blood, filling every part of my body and forming a cycle within it.

But the power in your bodies is still in a dormant state, so you need to take in additional energy from the outside.

Once you can skillfully control the divine power within you, you won't need to eat anymore." Ra explained.

"I see. No wonder you've always looked so full of energy, Sister."

Obe nodded. She was very receptive to reasoning that was logical and coherent.

"Then what do we do? The more I think about it, the hungrier I get. I really want grilled chicken wings~ I shouldn't have played Yu-Gi-Oh."

Oshi's shut-in nature was beginning to show. "Gah! Sister Ra, hurry and use your invincible Power of the Sun God to think of something!"

"Don't make things difficult for Sister. We haven't seen a single feathered creature along the way, so where are we supposed to find chicken wings for you?

We might as well go to the beach and see if we can pick up some crabs." Though she said that, Obe was actually getting a little hungry too.

"How about this? I'll go into the forest and see if I can find you some wild vegetables and fruit. You two wait here for me."

"Sister, I'll go with you. There might be danger in the forest." Obe wanted to follow her.

"No need. I happen to have a guess I want to test.

You two just wait here obediently. If I'm right, I might have a surprise for you."

Ra refused Obe's offer and walked toward the woods in small steps.

But after taking two steps, she suddenly stopped, turned back, and instructed them, "Don't run around while you're here, and don't fight either."

Seeing the two of them nod obediently, Ra turned back and continued into the forest after giving her instructions.

Half an hour later, beneath a giant tree near the center of the forest, Ra indeed found a large group of animals gathered together.

It looks like they were frightened by the aura around Oshi and Obe. Their desire to survive overcame their desire to hunt, so they hid together.*

Ra's guess was correct. Oshi and Obe simply could not control their own aura yet.

Although they could not use their power yet, the aura belonging to Phantom Gods poured recklessly into the surroundings, frightening all the animals on the island into huddling together and trembling.

This was also why they had not been attacked when they first arrived in this world, despite being unconscious.

Of course, even if some beast had fearlessly attacked them back then, it probably would not have been able to break their skin.

Ra had already tested it. Even without using divine power, this body's strength in every regard was still terrifyingly high.

The animals showed no reaction to Ra's arrival. After all, they had not dared approach the three who fell from the sky, so they did not recognize Ra. They merely thought she had come to hide from those two harbingers of disaster as well.

Ra had naturally learned to restrain her aura the moment she woke up. Combined with the aura that made all living things favor her, which she herself had yet to notice, Ra appeared gentle and harmless to the animals at that moment.

One animal resembling a black-and-white bear even scooted back, making a little room for her.

But unfortunately, Ra's emotions were not developed enough for her to make friends with animals.

Her gaze swept over the tigers, leopards, deer, and sheep, and she quickly chose her prey.

Ra extended one finger. Two fireflies-like flames formed at her fingertip and flew toward two creatures that looked like chickens, instantly burning away all their feathers.

After the feathers were dealt with, the flames began to expand. The two chickens were completely enveloped, and before long, their skins were roasted to a faint golden brown while all their internal organs were burned into nothingness.

Ra's control over fire was improving rapidly. Even with only a tiny flame, she could precisely control the temperature in different areas.

Under the suddenly trembling gazes of the other animals, Ra walked over, picked up the two roasted chickens, and examined them.

"The wings are a little small. Is it because flying is too difficult without wind, so they simply degenerated? I hope Oshi won't mind."

Leaving behind a group of animals nearly scared out of their wits, Ra carried the two chickens in one hand and gathered some wild fruit as she went—fruit that Ra had personally tasted and selected for its good flavor.

As for whether it was poisonous, Ra felt there was no need to distinguish. Biological toxins would probably only serve as natural seasoning for the three of them now.

After picking two enormous leaves and filling two bamboo-like canteens with mountain spring water, Ra used her long skirt to carry the pile of supplies and headed back the way she had come.

"Wow~ That's amazing, Sister Ra! You really found food, and it's roast chicken too! Yay!"

Back at the shore, Oshi, who had been lying on the ground from hunger, immediately sprang up like a cat when she saw the huge pile of food.

Ra crouched down and placed all the food she had gathered in her skirt onto the leaves.

"Oshi, sit properly and eat slowly. Don't wolf it down.

There's water in the bamboo tubes. Don't choke.

The pile of fruit on your left is sweet, while the other pile is more sour. Don't mix them up.

And the remaining chicken is Obe's, so don't eat them all... Obe, hurry and sit down to eat too."

"Got it."

Obe sat down as she spoke, but she did not start eating immediately. Instead, she tore off a chicken leg and handed it to Ra first.

"Sister, you should eat with us too."

"Oh! Right, right! Sister Ra, you should eat too~" Oshi came to her senses as well and tore off a wing, handing it to her.

Ra had wanted to say she did not need any, but seeing the hopeful looks in their eyes, she smiled and accepted the chicken leg and wing.

The three of them sat together like that and enjoyed their first dinner since arriving in this world.
