Mako Mori stared at Chen Mo in shock. Ever since the Kaiju invaded Earth, humanity had actually remained on the defensive. Even when she had piloted Gipsy Danger into the Breach years ago, all she had wanted was to destroy it and stop the Kaiju from entering Earth again. She had never considered taking the initiative to strike back.
Leaving aside whether, as Chen Mo suspected, the Precursors were involved behind the scenes, even if things were truly as he said, could they really retaliate?
Mako Mori shook her head solemnly.
"This is too risky! If we fail..."
Jack, however, was exhilarated and wholeheartedly agreed with Chen Mo. He had long wanted to storm the Kaiju's lair and wipe out every last one of those damned things!
"Mako, I think he's right. Once a conspiracy has been exposed, it is no longer a conspiracy! We're already prepared. Bring Liwen Shao in, and no matter what scheme they have, we can handle it. This is a perfect opportunity to eliminate the Kaiju and the Precursors once and for all!"
Yet Mako Mori still frowned. As Secretary-General of the Pan Pacific Defense Corps, she was no longer merely a brave and fearless Jaeger pilot. There was much more for her to consider. What rested on her shoulders were the lives of all humanity. She had no choice but to be cautious.
But as Chen Mo had said, this might be their best chance to launch a counterattack and completely eradicate the Precursors and the Kaiju!
Chen Mo watched the eyes shifting beneath Mako Mori's tightly furrowed brow and knew that he had already persuaded her. It was only the responsibility she bore that prevented her from making up her mind so easily.
All Chen Mo had to do now was add a
