Although Amara and the others had trespassed into Obsidian Fury, they had indeed uncovered important intelligence. General Quan therefore temporarily exempted them from punishment.
Even so, the four of them still looked somewhat dazed when they left the laboratory.
They had thought they would definitely face severe punishment for entering Obsidian Fury without authorization. Unexpectedly, Amara's accidental discovery had helped them avoid punishment for the time being. It was undeniably a stroke of luck, but they still felt lingering fear.
Moreover, they had heard many astonishing secrets beyond their imagination in the laboratory. Even now, they had yet to fully recover from the shock. None of them even knew how they had made it back to their dorms.
After leaving the laboratory, the others soon went their separate ways. Mako Mori, however, walked over to Chen Mo. After making sure no one else was nearby, she looked up at him and asked sternly.
"Is the Precursors' conspiracy related to the drone Jaegers?"
Looking at the intelligent woman before him, Chen Mo did not deny it. He nodded directly.
"That's right."
With her guess confirmed, Mako Mori frowned and looked at Chen Mo in confusion.
"Then why not stop the drone Jaegers from being deployed?"
Chen Mo met Mako Mori's gaze without flinching and said in a low voice.
"Do you remember what I told you before? Our goal isn't merely to stop this one conspiracy by the Precursors. It's to destroy the Precursors completely and eliminate the Kaiju threat at its root!"
Mako Mori recalled what Chen Mo had told her after saving her, and she immediately understood.
"So you're planning to turn their scheme against them!"
"That's right!"
