"Of course we take out those bastards and rescue them!"
Hot-tempered Luo Zhen shouted angrily, "They dared lay a hand on people from our Martial Arts School? They must be tired of living!"
"How do we rescue them? Rush over there just like that? What if they kill the hostages?" Huang Quan, the oldest among them, asked gravely. "And the Dock is huge. Do you even know where they're hiding?"
"I... But we can't just sit here and wait! Who knows what they'll do to them? If we wait until tonight, it'll be too late!" Luo Zhen said anxiously. "We can't seriously let Wang Kun go alone, can we?"
At those words, Wang Kun clenched his fists even tighter. His bloodshot eyes blazed like those of a tiger ready to devour someone. "Right now, I can only go alone. No matter what, I have to bring them back!"
"No!"
Albert stopped him.
"You're going there to die! These people are clearly targeting the Martial Arts School. They're trying to pick us off one by one!" Albert held back the agitated Wang Kun, pressing a hand to his shoulder as he spoke. "They must have already set up an ambush at the Dock, just waiting for you to walk into their trap!"
"Then what are we supposed to do?" Wang Kun asked helplessly. How could he not know that this trip was likely to end badly? But with his family in their hands, what choice did he have besides risking his life on one desperate gamble?
"If only the Master were here." Han Qing could not help thinking of Chen Mo. "He'd definitely have a way."
The others' eyes lit up, only to dim again moments later. Their Master was all the way in Europe. Even if he knew, he could not get here in time.
The atmosphere fell into silence.
Just then, a familiar voice suddenly rang out beside them.
"I think I heard someone talking about me behind my back?"
Everyone hurriedly turned toward the door. Standing quietly before the entrance Wang Kun had shoved open and failed to close was a tall, imposing figure. His stern face, sharp gaze, and the thick killing intent radiating from him all carried an overwhelming pressure. Yet the people of the Martial Arts School felt an immense sense of relief, as though a small boat battered by the storm had finally found something to rely on.
"Master!"
"Young Master!"
"You're finally back!"
Seeing everyone so excited, Chen Mo could not help feeling puzzled. I've only been gone for half a year. Did they really miss me this much?
"What happened?" Chen Mo asked as he walked inside, revealing Howard behind him.
Howard curiously looked over the furnishings in the Martial Arts School before following Chen Mo to the sofa and sitting down.
With their pillar of support back, everyone finally settled down. Old Albert explained the situation to Chen Mo, and afterward, they all looked at him expectantly, waiting for him to make a decision.
After listening to Albert, the killing intent in Chen Mo's eyes intensified. Those beside him felt as though the air had suddenly turned cold.
Though he had been far away in Europe, Chen Mo had kept track of the situation in New York through HYDRA. While he had been gone, the Mafia in Brooklyn had begun stirring again.
According to HYDRA's intelligence, Brooklyn's two major Mafia families had started making moves as early as half a month ago. Having learned their lesson from Mad Dog Tony last time, neither family dared act rashly. Instead, they secretly encouraged other forces to strike at the Martial Arts School. This was also one of the reasons Chen Mo had returned.
This kidnapping was meant to test the Martial Arts School's strength while taking the opportunity to eliminate a powerful fighter.
Chen Mo felt somewhat guilty. He had been well aware of the Mafia's unusual movements, but he had assumed they would strike directly at the Martial Arts School, and he had long since made arrangements for that. Not to mention Huang Quan and the others inside, the HYDRA agents he had stationed around the Martial Arts School alone were enough to eliminate any enemy that came attacking. Of course, those were contingencies and would not be exposed unless absolutely necessary.
With Albert's steadiness, the combat skills and marksmanship of the four Boxing Masters, and the weapons and equipment Chen Mo had left behind, they could easily handle most situations.
What Chen Mo had not expected was that the other side would target Wang Kun's family. That was something he had overlooked. He had viewed things too much from his own perspective, assuming they would attack the Martial Arts School directly, without considering that these low-level gangsters had no bottom line.
It served as a reminder to Chen Mo. The protection of those around him had to be meticulous. He could not overlook any possible point of attack.
At the same time, Chen Mo secretly counted himself fortunate that he had returned early enough to prevent irreparable consequences.
Thinking of this, Chen Mo looked up at the old butler and asked, "Eddie, if I hadn't returned, what were you planning to do?"
Old Albert undid the buttons of his suit jacket, reached beneath his arms with both hands, and drew two pistols.
"Wait until dark, then sneak into the Dock and rescue them first." With a gun in each hand, Albert's entire bearing changed. "Then kill every last one of them!"
As expected, those who kept close to vermilion turned red. After spending so much time with Chen Mo, Old Albert had changed greatly under his influence. He had gone from an artsy old intellectual into an elegant gentleman and a passionate, violent ace agent.
Chen Mo carefully studied Albert. This was the first time he had seen such a forceful side of him. He had not expected Eddie to have such hot-blooded, battle-loving instincts beneath the surface.
Nodding in satisfaction, Chen Mo rose from the sofa.
"Then what are we waiting for? Grab your weapons!"
Huang Quan and the others immediately rushed upstairs to get their guns. They were not as fond of firearms as Albert was, carrying them around all day.
Once everyone had gathered, they followed Chen Mo toward the entrance with murderous momentum.
Just then, a timid voice spoke up.
"Um, could you bring me along too?" Howard, who had been ignored the entire time, asked with an expectant look. "I'm a pretty good shot too!"
Although he had always been doing research, Howard had longed for battle deep down. But the battlefield was too dangerous, and for the sake of his own life, he had rationally given up on going there to get himself killed.
But after hearing Chen Mo's old butler describe the situation, it seemed they were going to rescue people from the Mafia. The chance for this kind of small-scale battle made Howard eager to try. He knew how formidable Chen Mo was. With Chen Mo protecting him, there definitely would not be any problems. All he had to do was fight to his heart's content.
Chen Mo had originally intended to have Howard wait at the Martial Arts School, but seeing the longing on his face, he nodded.
"All right. Wait here."
After saying that, Chen Mo turned and went upstairs. Before long, he came back down carrying a pile of things.
Clang!
With the sound of something heavy hitting the floor, Chen Mo tossed the items in his arms onto the ground. Everyone felt the floor shake violently twice.
The others gathered around curiously. Howard picked up one of the items, examined it, then looked up at Chen Mo in confusion.
"Isn't this the Bulletproof Armor you designed?"
