Before Howard could continue asking how the Martial Arts School had gotten such things, Chen Mo waved to the group and urged, "Hurry up and put them on. We're leaving right away!"
Although Albert, Huang Quan, and the others were also puzzled about when the Martial Arts School had acquired these strange outfits, each of them took one and obediently put it on.
These were downgraded Bulletproof Armor used by the Special Operations Team. Chen Mo had stored several sets in his space, intending to bring them back for their use.
Chen Mo had originally planned to take them out near the dock and have Huang Quan and the others change there. They would not ask about Chen Mo's special methods, but since Howard insisted on coming too, he had no choice but to bring them out now.
Several dozen pounds meant nothing to Huang Quan and the other four. Even Old Albert, though already in his sixties, had a strong body from regularly training with Chen Mo and Huang Quan, so it was not much of a problem. Howard, on the other hand, lacked exercise and found the weight difficult to bear.
"Can I not wear it? It's too heavy. It'll affect my fighting." Howard held a set of armor and looked at Chen Mo pleadingly.
"Sure." As Chen Mo helped the old butler put on the Bulletproof Armor, he said, "Then stay home and wait. We'll be back soon."
"No, I'll wear it, all right?" Howard said with a resentful expression.
A while later, everyone had put on the Bulletproof Armor. Their black, tight-fitting suits made of bulletproof fiber were embedded with angular, raised armor plates that protected nearly every vital part of their bodies. Their knees, shoulders, elbows, and other joints were covered by multiple independent interlocking plates, ensuring thorough protection without compromising mobility.
Wearing the imposing Bulletproof Armor, every one of them looked exceptionally formidable and eye-catching.
Then Chen Mo somehow produced a pile of black combat uniforms and had everyone wear them over the armor. Since they were infiltrating, it was better to keep a low profile.
Once everyone was fully equipped, Chen Mo had already changed into black combat gear as well. An M1911 pistol sat in each holster beside his thighs, and his waist was lined with throwing knives. After sweeping his gaze over the ready group, Chen Mo handed Howard a pistol and turned toward the door.
"Move out!"
Pier No. 6
Night had already fallen. The workers at the pier had long since gone home, and only a few dim yellow lights remained scattered throughout the entire pier.
Chen Mo's group of seven was currently hiding in a concealed corner across from the pier.
After carefully observing the area around the pier, Chen Mo used his keen senses to discover someone hiding in the dark at the entrance, keeping watch. He was most likely one of the gang members they were looking for.
After confirming that there was only one person at the gate, Chen Mo prepared to act.
"You wait here first."
With that, Chen Mo quickly left their hiding place and silently circled around from the side to one side of the gate. The sentry Chen Mo had noticed was on the other side of that wall.
He listened closely, confirmed the man's location, then leaped over the wall and slipped inside.
A moment later, Chen Mo poked his head out from the gate and waved at them. Albert and the others hurried over quietly.
Pier No. 6 was a small pier, and there was no one around at this hour. Chen Mo listened closely. The entire pier was silent, save for activity coming from the distant warehouse district.
Signaling for the others to follow, Chen Mo took the lead and headed swiftly toward the warehouses.
Though the pier was not large, warehouses of all sizes stood densely packed in the warehouse district. Chen Mo led the group toward the location he sensed.
Along the way, they found two more gang members standing watch. From far away, Chen Mo flicked out a throwing knife each time, taking them out before they even noticed him.
At a corner, Chen Mo stopped.
Carefully peering around it, he saw an old warehouse ahead. Several armed guards stationed at its entrance showed that they had found the right place.
Chen Mo quietly moved closer and investigated the warehouse. After returning, he whispered, "This warehouse only has one exit. Guard it here. When you hear gunfire, open fire. Kill anyone who comes out! Understood?"
"Understood!"
Everyone nodded in unison.
Hearing that the fight was about to begin, Howard's face filled with excitement, though he was still somewhat confused. "What about you?"
"I'm going in to save them!"
After saying that, Chen Mo silently moved forward, avoided the guards' line of sight, and climbed onto the warehouse roof from the side. Watching the tiles beneath his feet, he slowly made his way to the center of the roof without making a sound.
He slowly crouched down, lifted the tile in front of him, and looked into the warehouse.
At a pillar in the middle of the warehouse, a woman and a child were tied up. Their mouths were gagged, and their faces were streaked with tears. They were Wang Kun's wife and child.
The two had clearly been terrified, but they did not seem to have suffered any injuries. Chen Mo finally breathed a sigh of relief. Thank goodness they were all right. Otherwise, he would have had to blame himself.
His gaze shifted, and Chen Mo's murderous eyes turned toward the gang members inside the warehouse.
Just as expected, this was indeed a trap. Aside from Wang Kun's kidnapped wife and child, only two men were visibly standing guard beside the hostages. But more than twenty gunmen were hidden in the shadows around the corners of the warehouse. If Wang Kun had truly come alone, his chances of survival would have been slim.
Chen Mo could not help feeling some lingering fear. Fortunately, he had returned in time. At the same time, he reminded himself once more not to underestimate his enemies. He had to eliminate threats while they were still in their infancy.
If he had killed both families the moment he learned that they had begun stirring up trouble and inciting other forces to attack the Martial Arts School, why would his men's families have had to endure this crisis?
Fortunately, it was not too late to kill them now!
A cold gleam flashed in Chen Mo's eyes as two throwing knives shot toward the two men standing in the open. The pair, who had been huddled together discussing something, only felt a sharp pain in their heads before they knew nothing more.
Before their bodies could even hit the ground, Chen Mo stomped through the roof and jumped down.
He tore apart the ropes binding the mother and child, scooped them up, and dashed to a corner. With one kick, he sent a gunman hiding there flying. The corpse, its chest caved in, slammed heavily into the wall before dropping to the ground.
The mother and child were stunned by the sudden turn of events. Only after recognizing Chen Mo's face did Wang Kun's wife react.
"Master!" Like someone finding a savior in the depths of despair, the woman's voice was full of joyful surprise.
"Yeah. Stay here with the child. Don't move."
After saying that, Chen Mo stepped out from the corner again. Only then had the other gunmen reacted. They rushed out from their hiding places and, upon seeing Chen Mo's sudden appearance, raised their guns at him in unison.
"Kid! Who are you?" a burly man who appeared to be their leader shouted.
